Some celebrities have also opened up on the suicidal tendencies they've had or their depression. Mental health has become a nation-wide topic and every suicide works as a ringing alarm. It was during Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide that journalism had hit its lowest with some cringe and heartbreaking headlines doing rounds over the internet. It was Shekhar Suman, who was leading the battle of ‘Justice for SSR’ from the forefront along with his family and had never shied away from lending his opinion about the bias in the Bollywood industry or political propagandas that had started around his death. Now, a new channel has hit him hard as they reported the suicide of his son, Adhyayan Suman. Yes, the news channels are stooping a little too low for TRP and Shekhar Suman has decided to take legal action against them.
Earlier this week, a news channel falsely reported that Shekhar Suman’s son, Adhyayan Suman had died by suicide, leaving their fans in frenzy. His mother was left devastated and could not speak for a while. Now, Shekhar Suman took to his Twitter handle and slammed the news channel, adding the link of the piece of news. He tweeted, "Yesterday @ZeeNews acted unpardonably irresponsible and sent out a piece of news that devastated me,my wife and my family members .My wife was inconsolable as they announced that Adhyayan Suman has committed suicide.Adhyayan was in Delhi." He also added about taking legal action against the channel and wrote, "While I'm taking legal action against them and suing them for such a reprehensible act.The media ought to be more responsible and not jeopardize ppl's lives and destroy them for their own vested interest.i request ev one to tweet and ban @ZeeNews."

Adhyayan, who was in a meeting at the moment, could not reply to his family’s calls and later in a media interaction shared that had he committed suicide, he would not be there to talk with the paps. He said, "Bhai, agar maine suicide kar liya, to ye mera bhoot khada aapse baat kar raha hai shayad. Bhai ye bahut sharmnaak baat hai.” Talking about how things happened on the day his suicide rumours surfaced, he said, "I was in a meeting when people started calling me. People were nervous as I could not pick calls. Even when my mom called. She was obviously in shock and could not believe the reports."
He further shared that he is happy in his life and has no suicidal thoughts. Stating that it is a shameful act, he added, "This is so wrong! To hear that your child has died by suicide! Why would you report this? Why would you write such things about me? I am happy in my life and am working hard. I do not need to commit suicide. I do not want anyone to die by suicide. Earlier in an interview with the Mumbai Mirror, Shekhar Suman had shared that he had seen his son, Adhyayan Suman battling with depression and having suicidal thoughts in the past. He had said, “It was difficult for us to get my son out of that bad phase of his life. But now, after Sushant’s death, I am scared and worried once again. I used to peek in his room to check that he was okay. It has happened several times that I had opened his door to check on him at 4 or 5 a.m., only to find him staring blankly at the ceiling.
