The popular Bollywood actress, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, is often regarded as the most beautiful actress in the history of Indian cinema. However, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is in the headlines once again after she has been summoned to appear before Enforcement Directorate (ED) over alleged foreign exchange accusations in Panama Papers Case. As per the latest reports, the 48-year-old actress is on the investigative agency's radar over the allegations of stashing huge wealth in foreign countries.

According to a report in The Hindu, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Indian actress, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, to question her regarding the alleged foreign exchange accusations against her in the Panama Papers Leak case. On December 20, 2021, Aishwarya was asked to appear before the agency's office in Delhi. It is also reported that since 2016, the ED has been probing the case after the Panama Papers Leak had surfaced globally.
A notice was issued to the Bachchan family to share details about their foreign remittances since the year 2004, under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS) of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). As a result, not only Aishwarya Rai Bachchan but a record of 500 Indians were named in the Panama Papers that were leaked in 2016, exposing the illegal and secret offshore exchanges of renowned people.

For the unversed, in the Panama Papers Leak case, a record 11.5 million financial documents were leaked and published online on April 3, 2016. The leaked papers had surfaced some shocking tax avoidance numbers of some of the biggest names in the world. From politicians to global businessmen, MNCs, Prime Ministers of different countries, and millions of famous celebrities. Although tax avoidance is legal to an extent, the leak had caught everyone's attention when it had revealed that many people used some illegal techniques for tax evasion.
Talking about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's personal life, it was on April 20, 2007, when she had added 'Bachchan' to her surname after she had exchanged wedding vows with Abhishek. Four years later, Aishwarya and Abhishek had welcomed a little angel in their paradise and had embraced parenthood with the arrival of a baby girl, Aaradhya Bachchan, on November 16, 2011.
