Something similar happened when veteran actor, Rishi Kapoor, had taken to Twitter on September 2018 and had posted a cryptic note about him leaving the country for health treatment. Rishi Kapoor’s tweet could be read as “I am taking a short leave of absence from work to go to America for some medical treatment. I urge my well-wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. It's been 45 years 'plus' of wear and tear at the movies. With your love and good wishes, I will be back soon!" While fans and media had already started speculating that it is cancer which has struck Rishi ji, it was only later, when posts, tweets and messages had finally proved so. And thus, after almost spending time in the New York City for about 11 months, Rishi ji and Neetu ji are back in India like how!
We all had been eagerly waiting for a comeback tweet from Rishi Kapoor and it had finally happened on September 09, 2019. The same could be read as “BACK HOME!!!!!! 11 Months 11days! Thank you all!” His wife, Neetu Kapoor, who is an active Instagrammer had taken to the social media site and had posted a picture from the ‘welcome back’ decoration that they had done for Rishi ji's return. Her picture and caption spoke a thousand words about how eagerly were their two children, Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni waiting for them to be back home. She had captioned it as “This simple balloon has so much Warmth Love and belonging."
And as per reports, a ‘welcome back’ party for Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor was hosted by Ranbir Kapoor. As amazing as it sounds, there was one guest (not limited to a mere 'guest' anymore, though!), who had to be there. Any guesses who it would be? As correct as some of you might get, it was none other than the soon-to-be Kapoor bahu, Alia Bhatt! Alia looked like sunshine in a yellow kurta-sharara as she joined her beau, Ranbir Kapoor and her soon-to-be father-in-law, Rishi Kapoor at his residence. Rishi Kapoor was undergoing the entire tenure of his cancer treatment in New York. Every now and then, many Bollywood celebs had paid him a visit there. But mostly, we have seen how doting this ‘almost’ daughter-in-law, Alia Bhatt had become already! Amidst all the pictures shared by Neetu Kapoor, one picture that had particularly caught our fancy was the Kapoor fam-jam comprising of Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and Alia Bhatt pose for the camera. Sharing the pictures, Neetu ji had written, “Your family is your whole world. So so many LOVES in these beautiful moments.” Her ‘almost soon-to-be’ samdhan, Soni Razdan had commented, “All looking so well and happy” on the pictures. In October last year, we shared with you that Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor might take the ‘great vow’ after the latter’s father, Rishi Kapoor’s recovery. A close family friend of the Kapoors had thrown light on the same and had shared, “She has been welcomed into the family by everyone. So it’s not just Ranbir who loves Alia. His parents, sister and the rest of the sprawling Kapoor family adore her too. Marriage is on Ranbir’s mind for sure and he will get into it happily this time. The couple will wait until Rishi Kapoor’s recovery before discussing a date for marriage.”
Rishi Kapoor had shared sometime back that he feels its time Ranbir Kapoor started thinking about his marriage seriously. Rishi ji had revealed, “It is high time he got married. I settled down when I was 27, Ranbir is 35. So he should think about marriage. He can marry anyone of his choice; we don't have any objection to it. I want to spend time with my grandchildren before I am gone.” He had further shared, “[Be it] Ranbir or his contemporaries, actors have blinkers on and are focused on their work. The only women they meet are the actresses. Given that most Kapoor bahus had given up their filmy careers post-marriage, will Alia follow suit? A source had shared, “Though other Kapoor bahus like Karisma-Kareena’s mom Babita and Rishi’s wife Neetu Singh gave up their careers after marriage, theirs was a voluntary decision. Alia will continue with her thriving career.”
