Best known for her eponymous label, Anamika Khanna is a brand name in itself. However, her friendship with Anil Kapoor's younger daughter, Rhea Kapoor, is not unknown to the world. Fashion designer, Anamika Khanna and celebrity stylist, Rhea Kapoor share a great camaraderie, and therefore, it would not be surprising to know that Rhea had chosen her bestie to design the outfit for her D-Day.
Rhea Kapoor always wanted to have an intimate wedding and it was just a day before her D-Day, that rumours of her marriage had started doing the round. However, her simple yet elegant look is going to be bookmarked by many would-be brides as it wasn't simply any run-of-the-mill look. For her wedding, Rhea had donned a white chanderi saree and a pearl veil from Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas. Her designer spilt the beans on what had triggered her to opt for this ensemble for her wedding.

In an interview with The Times of India, Anamika Khanna shared that Rhea had always wanted to have a close-knit wedding in the presence of her family members and she was not really into being that 'overdressed bride'. She said, "While we were discussing how she (Rhea) would like to dress up for her wedding some 5 to 6 years ago, Rhea was very much clear in her head that she won't be that conventionally overdressed bride."
Going further in the interview, Anamika Khanna revealed that the ongoing pandemic had led Rhea to stick to the magnanimous white chanderi saree. She added, "And going by the current pandemic situation where her wedding was going to be a low-key affair and rather an intimate one we decided to stick to a beautiful chanderi sari."

Anamika Khanna also revealed the reason behind Rhea Kapoor being her favourite bride till date. Stating the same, she said, "I was sure that we will not be doing a lehenga for her as she was never that lehenga type of girl. Rhea has a very strong personality and we wanted to give her something meaningful which symbolises love and timelessness. For me, my inspiration while doing this look was Rhea herself. That's how everything fell into place."
Lastly, Anamika Khanna also shared how the idea behind Rhea's much-talked-about pearl veil came into the picture. She concluded, "Brides put a pallu on the head during their wedding rituals, but we didn't want her to use her sari's pallu to cover her head with. That's when we decided to do this veil with Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas. The whole point was to create a unique look and it just struck us that we should make the veil in pearls."
