Being a secular, strong and independent woman, she tied the knot with her gym trainer and longtime boyfriend, Shahnawaz Sheikh. But little did she know that her beautiful love story would be named 'Love Jihad' by the netizens.
Devoleena’s traditional wedding was an intimate affair, and nobody had any clue about her groom. Taking to her IG handle on December 14, 2022, she uploaded gorgeous pictures with her hubby, Shahnawaz and flaunted her bridal shaadi ka joda. However, as soon as the netizens noticed that the groom is a Muslim man, they started to troll the couple on Twitter.

One user also had the audacity to link Devoleena’s marriage with a recent unfortunate case of Shraddha Walkar murder, where her boyfriend, Aftab committed a horrifying crime which shook the entire nation. The troll took to the micro-blogging site and wrote, “Rest in fridge.” To this, Devoleena gave a befitting reply to the internet user and slammed him for his toxic mentality.
The same user reshared an old post of Devoleena from June 29, 2022, when she had shared a selfie of a few Muslim criminals who had killed an innocent kid in the name of religion. The actress had criticised them in her old post by calling them by a sarcastic name, which read, “Peace loving creatures.” After resharing the old Tweet, the user said that Devoleena’s son would also be a peace-loving creature. But, the actress gave a savage reply and said she would be a proud mother if she could educate her son like the Indian scientist, APJ Abdul Kalam.
