When it comes to the Ambanis, you can’t expect anything less but extravaganza! June 30, 2018 saw the gathering of a whole array of stars from a galaxy called Bollywood at Mukesh Ambani’s ‘Antilia’. Reason? Do we still need to say? Okay! It was Mukesh and Nita Ambani’s eldest son, Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s engagement bash.
Maestros from the cricket and Bollywood fraternity graced the occasion with their presence. From Akash Ambani’s uncle and aunt, Anil and Tina, choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant, Vidhu Vinod Chopra with his wife Anupama Chopra and their kids, Kajol, Karan Johar, Ashutosh Gowarikar with his wife, Sachin Tendulkar, wife Anjali Tendulkar and daughter Sara Tendulkar, Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi, Anil Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor to Vidya Balan and Siddharth Roy Kapur made the ceremony even more royal with their magnificent presence.
While we will give you a recap of all that had happened, we wanted to share something so fancy that it will be probably hard for you to imagine! Won’t you still believe us if we show it to you? Well then, something extraordinary was in store for all the guests at the engagement bash. There were no patrons who were delivering the food to the tables of the guests. Instead, food was being air-dropped in balloons (on the tables, of course) hovering through the air! Still don’t believe us? Checkout for yourself!
Did you look at the video without even blinking for a moment? We certainly did not! Earlier, speculations had it that the King Khan of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, who has extremely cordial ties with the Ambanis will host the function. And the speculations were indeed true! Shah Rukh, famously known for his wit, humour and charm, left no stone unturned to ensure that Akash and Shloka’s ‘big-day’ was turned extremely eventful. Shah Rukh not only entertained and danced to make their engagement a memorable one, but also pulled Akash’s younger brother, Anant Ambani’s legs to the fullest!
And not just this, the stars of tinsel town had performed a special flash mob for the to-be's. In the following video, you can spot SRK, Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Isha Ambani, Nita Ambani, Anant Ambani dancing along the soon-to-be-married couple Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta on the song Gal Mitthi Mitthi Bol from the film, Aisha.

Talking about their attires, all the guests looked extremely beautiful. More so, the highlights of the part, Akash and Shloka looked a million dollars in their respective attires. The groom-to-be, Akash looked dapper in a maroon coloured bandhgala kurta and a white pyjama, while the beautiful bride-to-be slayed it in a pink embroidered lehenga. She complemented her dress with a heavy diamond neckpiece, light earrings and a maang teeka.
Sasu-maa, Nita Ambani is on top of the world to welcome her to-be bahu home. In an interview, she had shared, “ I have known Shloka since she was four and we are all delighted to welcome her to our home and our hearts.” Also, a source close to the Ambani family told the media, “Shloka is a very charming girl, extremely cultured and it’s difficult to say which of the two families is lucky with this upcoming marriage.”
In a throwback interview, Akash spoke about his childhood love, Shloka, and shared with a media portal, “I am truly happy that our friendship has blossomed into love and Shloka and I are getting married, she is a truly special and extremely kind-hearted person." The soon-to-be Ambani bahu also spoke about Akash. She had shared, “Despite years and busy schedules, we have always found ways to stay connected. Akash is incredibly grounded, and we share a bond based on meaning and memories. We don't just get along - we also support each other's hopes and aspirations and are determined to build a sense of purpose into our lives together.
