Jiah Khan's Case Transferred To Special CBI Court, Mother Rabia Khan Claims Her Daughter Was Killed

It was on June 3, 2013, when Nishabd fame actress, Jiah Khan was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her Juhu home. Her death came as a shock for everyone, and when a six-page suicide letter revealed why she had decided to end her life, her family, friends, and fans couldn't believe that the actress was going through so much in her life.

Jiah Khan, who was born in New York City and raised in London, had bid adieu to the world at the age of 25. She was in a serious relationship with actor, Sooraj Pancholi, son of Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab. After her suicide letter was recovered, Jiah's suicide was turned into an alleged tale of murder and Sooraj was charged with abetment to suicide.

Now, the trial of Jiah's case with Sooraj as the main accuse has been transferred to the CBI court. As the case has been moved to the Special CBI court, Jiah's mother, Rabia, who has been fighting to get justice for her daughter, welcomed the decision. Rabia has claimed that her daughter's death was not suicide, rather, she was killed by her boyfriend, Sooraj Pancholi.

In an interview with ETimes, Rabia stated that Jiah would never take her life and said, "The innocent Jiah had no fault. A wise decision by the court now. CBI will retrieve evidence from Maharashtra police after nine years. CBI has Scarman's report, experts forensic report, they need to send evidence to forensics to analyse whether the ligature could imprint just injuries on Jiah. We expect applaudable answers to the truth because Jiah would never take her life, and she was killed beyond a reasonable doubt."

According to the report of The Times of India, Sooraj's advocate, Prashant Patil said, "The order granted by the Sessions Court to transfer the case to the CBI court is a welcome move for my client Sooraj Pancholi. We have been moving applications since the beginning of the trial to expedite the case and decide it on its merits within six months. Our applications were allowed. Even then, the trial proceedings were delayed."

On the other hand, Sooraj's mother, Zarina Wahan is happy as the case is being transferred to the special CBI court. Speaking to TOI and stating how her son has suffered a lot from the past eight-nine years, Zarina said, "We wanted this trial to be expedited. Eight-nine years is a very long time. My son has suffered through this period and this was not fair to him. My husband and I and all our family members had faith in God and the judiciary. We all believe that if my son is guilty, he should be penalised, but if he is not, he must also get his clean chit from the Court. He should have the right to move on. I feel bad for my baccha for what he has endured. I also feel the pain of the mother who lost her daughter."

Zarina also recalled the terrible past 10 years and said that she is happy as the trial will get speed up and the family will finally have closure. Stating that her son's life and career are at stake, Zarina shared, "I just wish that Sooraj keeps his composure and stays as strong as he has been all along. I want to see him happy and relaxed, which has not happened in years."
