Kamini Kaushal, the oldest actress of Bollywood, has sadly passed away on November 14, 2025, at the age of 98. The veteran star has given the industry numerous hits, including Shaheed, Arzoo, Shabnam, and Neechan Nagar. Kamini's demise broke the hearts of millions of her fans. Her family has requested privacy as they go through the tough time. The legendary star was a respected figure of Hindi cinema, and her contribution to the field will forever remain etched in our hearts.
Kamini Kaushal (born Uma Kashyap) has lived a quiet life away from the spotlight since leaving acting. Her demise was also a subsequent quiet affair, away from media intrusion. The exact cause of her death has not been released yet; however, a source close to the family reportedly confirmed the demise and shared that Kamini's family did not want to reveal any more details regarding the circumstances surrounding the veteran actress's death. The unidentified source was quoted by various news outlets as saying:
"Kamini Kaushal's family is extremely low profile and needs privacy."

According to Zoom, Kamini Kaushal passed away from natural causes, particularly health-related issues. However, it is worth noting that neither Kamini's family nor any sources close to the late actress have confirmed her cause of death. Kamini, living to see the day, even at 98, was an amazing feat in itself. She lived her life to the fullest, in love and surrounded by her doting family.

Kamini Kaushal is survived by her three sons and two stepdaughters. She was married to Braham S. Sood, a chief engineer at the Bombay Port Trust, until his demise. Kamini's biological sons, Rahul Sood, Vidur Sood, and Shravan Sood, were very close to their mother. Rahul Sood has even written an ode to his mother, which was published in the Filmfare magazine. Besides her sons, Kamini Kaushal also raised her stepdaughters, Kumkum Somani and Kavita Sahni, as her own and loved them equally. Not much is known about the five children, except that Kumkum is a children's book writer.

Kamini's stepchildren were the biological daughters of her own sister, Usha Kaushal. Usha tragically passed away in a car accident in 1948. Following her sister's untimely death, Kamini Kaushal married her brother-in-law, B.S. Sood, a chief engineer at the Bombay Port Trust, out of a sense of duty to raise her sister's young children. Kamini was just 21 back then, and she was almost coerced into the marriage by her family. Even though she was pretty young to become a stepmom to three, she took the responsibility head-on and raised them with love alongside her own children.
