For the unversed, it was Comedy Nights With Kapil Sharma that catapulted him to the glory that he is enjoying currently. After his fallout with co-comedian, Sunil Grover, his show went off air, but soon he was back with a bang with The Kapil Sharma Show. Today, as much as his professional life is sorted, he is happy and content in his personal life too. On December 12, 2018, he had married Ginni Chatrath and in 2019, the couple is expecting their first baby together. Foremost sign of being a good comedian is when one is able to laugh at own self and that’s what Kapil does so effortlessly. The latest episode of The Kapil Sharma Show, which got aired on August 25, 2019, had Nora Fatehi and Vicky Kaushal as the celeb guests. During the course of teasing and leg-pulling, Kapil, as he does with all the other actresses, tried to impress Nora and said that he was in Vancouver (in his fake accent). To which, Archana instantly intervened and said that he was with his wife. Pat came Nora’s reply that she wasn’t aware that he is married and asked him to sit at a distance. And that’s when he made fun of his wife, Ginni and said, “Wo meri dur ki biwi hai.”
Kapil didn’t stop here and expressed his desire to do a video with Nora. To which, Nora said that he has to work a lot harder for that and he then replied that he is ready to wear gharghara and dance. During all of this, Nora kept reminding him that he is a married man and she is single. He further stated that his wedding with Ginni was only a publicity stunt. And that’s when Vicky told Kapil to hold his horses else, he will witness all the stunts at home. This is not the first time when Kapil Sharma made fun of his wedding with Ginni Chatrath. Right after over a month of their wedding, in one of the episodes that had aired in January 2019, Kapil had flirted with Amrita Rao and made fun of his marriage terming it as a ‘PR stunt’. At that time, when the Vivah actress had congratulated Kapil for his marriage, to which, Kapil hadreplied saying, it was a ‘PR stunt’ that had made everyone roll their eyes. Amrita had said, “Oh my God, inki abhi abhi shaadi hui hai”, and pat had come Kapil’s shocking reply, “Are wo PR stunt tha. Mere baare main badi galat galat khabre aayi thi to maine positivity felani thi bus isliye.” And he hadn’t stopped there and had added, “Are wo larki (Ginni) actress hai.”
Earlier, in an interaction with the IANS, Kapil had talked about his wedding with Ginni and had quipped, “My mother has been saying that I should get married for a long time. Suddenly I realised that ‘abhi age ho rahi hai’ (I am getting on in age). As we mentioned, Kapil and Ginni are expecting their first baby in 2019, and just like any other happy parents-to-be, these two are also eagerly waiting for the little one to arrive. In a conversation with the Mumbai Mirror, Kapil had retorted, "I just want to take care of my wife and be by her side for now. We are obviously very excited as it's our first kid, but my mother is the most excited. She has been waiting for this moment for years now. We are just praying for Ginni and the baby's health."
