Malaika Arora is tagged as one of the coolest moms in the Bollywood industry. The doting mother is 48 years old and has a 19-year-old son, Arhaan Khan, with her ex-husband, Arbaaz Khan. For the unversed, Malaika and Arbaaz had tied the knot in 1998 and after 18 years of togetherness, the couple had got divorced in 2017. After their divorce, Malaika was given custody of her son, Arhaan Khan.
In August 2021, Arhaan Khan had left India to pursue his higher studies, and his loving mother, Malaika Arora had missed him. Earlier, in an interview with the Indian Express, Malaika had bared her heart out on how difficult it was to send her son away from her. The starlet had shared that she was still trying to get used to him not being around her. However, she had also added that she doesn't think she will ever get used to it.

In an interview with Namrata Zakaria on her podcast, Tell Me How You Did It, Malaika Arora opened up on her early marriage and motherhood that had never affected her professional life. The glamorous diva of Bollywood added that she has set an example for other women. She said:
"Somewhere, it was an example of sorts for lot of other women. It never was a hindrance. I’m proof of that. Not in any way has it come in the choices that I’ve made. Being married, or when I was married, or when I decided to have a child, I don’t think any of it had any bearing on my professional life. People around me had a lot more to say, but it didn’t have any bearing on my professional life.”
Malaika Arora also revealed that when she was young, very few women were working even through their pregnancies, compared to today. She talked about the change in social circumstances over the period of time and how boldly she had taken the decision back then. She added:
“Back then, there were very few of us who were married with kids. Very, very few. Nobody would take that plunge. Now, of course, it has changed; women are married, with kids, working through (pregnancies), and after. The whole concept has changed. But back then, it was far more different. I said, ‘I’m not going to let it bother me, I’m not going to let it stop what I want to do’. I worked through my pregnancy. I was on MTV, I did shows, I did all of it. I think I travelled the most when I was pregnant."

Malaika further mentioned in the conversation with Namrata Zakaria, about her strategy which made her marriage and working through pregnancy look glamorous and easy. She revealed:
“I always have this glamorous approach or being a certain way, it has worked in my favour. I don't think a lot of people at that point could have made that switch, I took it head on and I am really happy I did.”
Malaika’s son, Arhaan Khan is in India currently, and the loving mother is seen spending most of her time with him. On August 17, 2021, Malaika Arora had taken to her Instagram handle to pen an emotional note for Arhaan as he was about to embark on a new journey in a different country. She had posted a picture with her son, looking out of the window, with their backs facing the camera. Her note could be read as:
"As we both embark on a new n unchartered journey, one filled with nervousness, fear, excitement, distance, new experiences …all I know is that I am super duper proud of you my Arhaan."
On the work front, Malaika Arora was last seen as a judge in the dance reality TV show, India’s Best Dancer 2.
