NRI Bride Walked Down The Aisle For The Second Time With All Of Her Kids For Her Wedding

Weddings are not only about fun, food or designer ensembles. It is a union of two souls and their families. And a bride's choice and opinions are significant for a happy wedding, as it marks the beginning of a new phase for the bride along with a new person and his family. We stumbled upon one such bride, who had taken the vows for the second time and ditching all the societal norms, she had walked down the aisle for her second marriage in Toronto, along with all of her kids. 

The bride of the week, Shivani Sharma was earlier in an unhappy marriage for 12 long years. However, after that, she had parted ways and came out of the marriage with her kids. After three years, she had given love a second chance when she had met her groom, Vinay, who was also a single parent. And at the age of 39, Shivani had tied the knot for the second time with her soulmate, Vinay. And although everyone had advised her not to take their kids to the wedding, Shivani had proudly taken the decision to walk towards the mandap with her kids, which had surely set major goals. In an interview with the Humans Of Bombay, Shivani Sharma had opened up about being in an unhappy marriage for 12 years. She had also mentioned that people had thought she was leaving behind a stable life, but she stood strong with her decision of moving out of the relationship. Shivani had said:

“I was in an unhappy marriage for 12 years. But at 35, when I realised it wasn’t going to get better, I walked out with my 3 kids. People thought I was crazy for leaving behind a stable life, but I knew I deserved happiness. I moved in with my parents, who supported me. The transition from being married to being a single person was difficult, but it gave me the time to focus on my work as a teacher & my kids.”

After three years post her divorce, Shivani had met the man of her dreams, Vinay on a dating app. Both of them were from Toronto and after 6 months of their dating, they had introduced each other to their kids and 6 months post this, they had got engaged. Fast forward to her wedding, people had said to keep away the children from the duo's wedding as otherwise, they would be awkward. But she hadn't paid any attention to this and revealing the same in the interview, she had explained:

“But during the wedding preps, people said that my children shouldn’t be a part of the ceremony as it would be awkward… But instead of paying heed to them, you know what I did? I walked down the aisle with them! It was such a magical moment. Vinay’s son stood by his side too. And together, the six of us started our new life!”

Later, at the age of 41, the beautiful bride had also started an Instagram based card business endeavour, named Mubarak Cards. In the same conversation, Shivani had explained how the love of her life, Vinay was extremely supportive. She is still continuing her job as a teacher but also makes time for this new passion. Talking about the same, Shivani had concluded by saying:

“I finally understood what being in a happy marriage feels like. And because I was so happy, I decided to do more for myself—at 41, I started a greeting-card business! Vinay & the kids were so supportive. I ended up selling 10,000+ cards in my first year! It’s true, when you feel content, great things happen.”
