Prateik Babbar and Sanya Sagar became husband and wife to each other on January 23, 2019. The two had been dating for almost a couple of years, and finally took the nuptial plunge on Wednesday. Prateik is the son of former Bollywood actor and politician, Raj Babbar and his late wife, Smita Patil. Sanya Sagar is the daughter of BSP leader Pawan Sagar. Yesterday, on January 25, 2019, it was Prateik Babbar and Sanya Sagar's post-wedding retro party. The pictures from the same have been shared in Instagram stories by Prateik's cousin sister, Kajri Babbar. Guests were dressed in retro style and many tried to emulate Bollywood heros and heroines. Prateik and Sanya's pre-wedding festivities kick-started on Janaury 22, 2019 with with haldi and mehendi ceremonies. For the mehendi ceremony, while Sanya looked pretty in a yellow outfit accessorised with flower tiara, Prateik looked dapper in a kurta pyjama. Their wedding took place at the Taj in Lucknow which happens to be Sanya's hometown. For the wedding, the bride looked graceful in her red outfit and Prateik wore a beige coloured sherwani for his D-day. Take a look:
A source had earlier informed Mumbai Mirror about Prateik's wedding. It was reported, "They have known each other for almost a decade but have been dating for only around two years and are excited to take their relationship to next level."
Sanya Sagar is a graduate from National Institute of Fashion Technology and holds a degree in filmmaking from London Film Academy. Both Sanya and Prateik's parents are in politics but it's their love for cinema that brought the two together. Prateik recently told a media house about his marriage plans and was quoted as saying, "I’ve been mentally ready for marriage for a while now as I believe it gives a relationship substance." It was on January 22, 2018, that Prateik and Sanya got engaged. The Brahmastra actor had shared the following picture with Sanya and captioned it, “#monday.. holy snappp!.. that just happened!". Sanya had replied, “Yus ba, sharing the news with thby” with a heart emoticon.
Talking about his engagement with Mumbai Mirror, Prateik earlier said "Sanya and I, along with our families, decided that something as pure as love should be solemnised on an auspicious day and what better day than Basant Panchami. She’s the best partner I could have asked for. It didn’t take me long to figure out that she was the one for me. I know it sounds clichéd, but I can’t stop counting my blessings and thanking God for all the good that is happening in my life."
Prateik had earlier shared in an interview about his wedding plans, “But we want to enjoy this courtship period for a year or two; Sanya will shuttle between Mumbai and Lucknow.
