Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have finally been pronounced as Mr and Mrs and the couple will now embark their journey of ‘happily ever after’. Deepika and Ranveer have asked their guests to not shower them with gifts on their wedding and instead donate them to her NGO, 'The Live Love Laugh Foundation'. As per Mid-Day report, "The bride and groom have requested the guests to not shower them with gifts. If they wish to give them anything, they've requested that donations be made to Deepika's foundation that actively works towards creating awareness and removing the stigma around depression. Both Ranveer and Deepika are deeply committed to the cause and want to involve all their guests in the good deed."
But Deepika and Ranveer want to leave no stone unturned to make their guests feel special. Deepika and Ranveer tied the knot in Kannada style wedding on November 14, 2018, and on November 15, 2018, witnessed the Sindhi style wedding of the couple. The pre-wedding functions took place on November 13, 2018, with the mehendi and sangeet ceremonies. As per the reports, Deepika broke down and teary-eyed on her pre-wedding ceremonies, and Ranveer hugged her and made her smile again. The source said, “Shubha Mudgal was performing a thumri when Deepika Padukone got emotional and was in tears. When she broke down, Ranveer, who could understand her emotional state, walked up to her and hugged her tight and consoled his lady love. Reporting about mehendi and sangeet ceremonies, a media tabloid stated, “The ambience at the event was electric. Ranveer Singh has enjoyed the most at the Mehendi ceremony. He danced his heart out while his lady love was busy getting the Mehendi done. Old songs were being played. First Shubha Mudgal performed, followed by Harshdeep Kaur. Romantic songs, ghazals and sufi songs were performed. Followed by a performance by Ranveer. He also danced on the beats of dhol.”
On October 21, 2018, Deepika and Ranveer officially announced their wedding with their fans sharing their invite which could be read as, “With the blessings of our families, it gives us immense joy in sharing that our wedding is set to take place on the 14th and 15th of November 2018. We thank you for all the love you have showered upon us over the years and seek your blessings as we embark on this incredible journey of love, loyalty, friendship and togetherness. A few days before her wedding, in an interview with Rajdeep Sardesai on his show, India Today India Tomorrow, the excited bride-to-be Deepika had shared, “I'm excited in the same way as I'm excited about signing my next film. Marriage is something that I've always looked forward to in my life, as would any other girl." Further speaking about her inspiration towards a happy marriage, the Happy New Year star stated, “I've seen my parents do it so well and so successfully and I think for me, that's the way I would like my married life to be as well. My parents have a beautiful relationship. The way they have managed their professional life as well as being together as a family. They have set such amazing benchmarks that both I and my sister (Anisha Padukone) would like to follow."
