One of the most controversial television shows, Bigg Boss 15 was the place where the much-in-love couple, Raqesh Bapat and Shamita Shetty had taken their brewing romance to a notch higher. However, their relationship had ignited during their stay in the Bigg Boss OTT, and slowly, it grew and became stronger. Post Bigg Boss OTT, Shamita had participated in Bigg Boss 15 house, and during that time, she had faced many difficult phases. And Raqesh had been there for her as a pillar of strength.
Ever since Shamita Shetty came out of the reality show, Bigg Boss 15, she painted the town red with her love-filled outings with her beau, Raqesh Bapat. However, a few weeks back, there were mild rumours that Raqesh and Shamita were considering parting ways. However, soon the reports were quashed by them.

In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Raqesh Bapat opened up about his relationship with his actress-girlfriend, Shamita Shetty. When the actor was asked to share his thoughts on his equation with Shamita. Answering this, Raqesh explained how their relationship works and called her a 'dear friend'. Calling Shamita a like-minded person, Raqesh admitted that he's glad to have her in his life and revealed the current equation between him and Shamita. He said:
"I'll tell you this, it's all about the energy two people carry with each other. That has to be worked on for anything to happen. We are in a happy zone; she is a dear friend. Friendship has to be so strong that nothing else can affect it. She is a pure soul. I value people who are honest. We have a lot of common interests. It's interesting to have like-minded people (Around you)."
Going further in the interview, Raqesh Bapat was asked whether his relationship with his girlfriend, Shamita Shetty is going strong or not, as a while ago, there were reports that they were breaking up. However, refuting all the rumours, Raqesh clearly stated that he and Shamita are going stronger together, as he said, "Of course". Although he admitted that he shares a special bond with Shamita but refused from calling it a relationship. When the actor was asked to explain it, Raqesh gave a beautiful answer, he explained:
"I would not name it a relationship. It's a bond. We just give names to things. It's like two people enjoying the space with each other, caring for each other. If you want to name it, it's a name game. She is a woman I really respect."

In the same interview, Raqesh Bapat also opened up about his previous statement about marriage, which he had given before meeting Shamita Shetty. In his old statement, he had stated that he no longer believes in the institution of marriage. However, after all these months and being with Shamita, it seems like things have changed for better for Raqesh. As the actor stated that he no longer believes in his old statement because many things have changed in his life since then. He stated:
"I'd cross the bridge when it comes. I was in a zone when I said that. I was going through a phase."
