Popular veteran actress, Ratna Pathak Shah is in the headlines after disclosing some rare details about her intimate wedding ceremony with her husband, Naseeruddin Shah. Well, the big reason why her statements are doing rounds on social media is that she has revealed that they had a beach wedding, and from swimming in the tides to singing the vidaai songs, they did everything together.
Talking about Ratna Pathak Shah's personal life, she and her husband, Naseeruddin Shah, are two maestros and rare gems of theatre and Bollywood. Their chemistry is evergreen and what makes them a power couple is their liberal thoughts in real life and immense contribution to cinema. In 1975, Naseer had met Ratna Pathak Shah for the first time. After a long dating and live-in period together, Naseeruddin and Ratna got married on April 1, 1982.

In an interview with ETimes, Ratna Pathak Shah was asked to reflect on her intimate wedding ceremony with her actor-husband, Naseeruddin Shah. To which the actress stated that her marriage with Naseeruddin Shah was a completely different wedding ceremony, as there were no rituals and no special code of conduct, which is usually seen in weddings. She said, "We had a fantastic wedding. Ours was probably one of few marriages that I attended, where the bride and groom both had fun. We had a ball at our wedding! We went to the beach, swam and drank wine, and had a great time. There were no rituals and no rona dhona (crying)."
Going further in her interview, Ratna Pathak Shah also hilariously revealed that during her vidaai ceremony, both she and Naseeruddin Shah were singing the vidaai songs, along with their closed ones. When the actress was asked whether she will prefer the same kind of wedding for her sons, Vivaan Shah and Imaad Shah, the veteran actress gave an interesting answer. She said, "I remember when I left my mom's place, we all were singing bidaai songs together. Naseer and I were also singing a whole lot of bidaai songs. So, of course, I want that for my kids too, but both of them are not showing any signs of marriage!"

When Kapoor and Sons actress, Ratna Pathak Shah enquired how she and Naseeruddin Shah had come together, she gave a beautiful answer, as she recalled some unheard memories from their priceless memory lane. She said, "We were friends, we were working together at a place, and we were in contact and getting to know each other. At some point in time, we decided that we like each other enough to spend more time with each other. That's how it happened."
At the end of her interview, Ratna Pathak Shah also addressed money's role in her and Naseeruddin Shah's marital life. The actress talked about their not-so-expensive dates and explained why it was a good thing that money did not happen too much for her and Naseeruddin. She said, "Fortunately, Naseer minted enough money for us to survive when I was not able to contribute much financially. We didn't go on expensive dates, we didn't have huge amounts of money. We travelled as much as we wanted to travel and also were useful to others--I think that is what money can do for us. It's wonderful that money did not happen too much for us."
