Born in a Tamil speaking family from Chennai on September 17, 1986, Ashwin had inherited the know-how of the nuances of cricket from his father. In fact, it was while watching his father’s master-strokes at club level cricket matches that Ashwin too expressed his wish to be a part of the Indian cricket team.
It was during his school days that Ashwin had first laid his eyes on the beautiful, Prithi. A friendship had blossomed between the two and had grown stronger when they had enrolled in the same college together. The couple had joined SSN College of Engineering in Chennai, and love had blossomed between the two gradually. Since the families knew each other quite well, there never came any moment of opposition. Ashwin and Prithi uninhibitedly enjoyed their dating period.

Ashwin’s cricketing career got wings, and slowly and steadily, he turned into an indispensable player of the Indian cricket team. Ravichandran Ashwin and Prithi Narayanan had opted for a low-key engagement ceremony towards the beginning of the year and had opted for a grand wedding on November 13, 2011. The couple had tied the knot decked up as per the traditional Tamil wedding customs. Although, Ashwin and Prithi's wedding ceremony did not have the big names of the cricket fraternity in full attendance. Ashwin also took a short break from cricket to be with his wife and enjoy his newly married phase.

The couple was blessed with a cute baby girl in 2015. Ashwin and Prithi named their daughter, Akhira. And, their second little angel was born on December 21, 2016, but Prithi intentionally hid the news of the baby’s arrival for good four days. It was only on December 26, 2016, that she had announced the arrival of their second child. Here is what she had tweeted back then:
“I delivered carrom baby #2 on the 21st. She waited out a State-wide shut down thanks to the cyclone AND 5 days of Test cricket at Chepauk.”

Ashwin's wife, Prithi, can often be seen accompanying Ashwin to his matches and remains one of the most exciting audiences. Aren't they just adorable?
