Married to each other on October 6, 2017, in Goa, Samantha Ruth Prabhu became Samatha Akkineni as she took the seven vows with her then co-star and now hubby, Naga Chaitanya Akkineni (son of South superstar, Nagarjuna). It is almost two years since this couple has been married and they don’t fail to give us major hubby-wife goals. The entire Akkineni family is currently holidaying in Ibiza on account of Nagarjuna’s 60th birthday and is having a gala time. On August 29, 2019, South superstar, Nagarjuna had turned 60. For the same, his sons, Chaitanya Akkineni, Akhil Akkineni and the former’s wife, Samatha Akkineni had jetted off to Ibiza a few days back, to give him a surprise to remember. An India Today report also had it that the younger lot of Akkinenis’ were to even host a private party for the star. It was also stated in the report that there’s would be a week-long celebration on the occasion of Nagarjuna’s birthday! In the similar lines, Samantha took to Instagram and posted the first-ever, full family glimpse, comprising of herself, hubby, Chaitanya, father-in-law, Nagarjuna, Chay's step-mother, Amala Akkineni and Chay’s half-brother, Akhil Akkineni from their holiday. Sharing the picture, she wrote, “Nag mama says “Thank you for all the love... always and forever… your blessings matter the most.””
Samatha Akkineni, like a doting bahu, had penned a heartfelt wish for her father-in-law, Nagarjuna, by posting a steaming picture of the birthday man in a swimming pool, flaunting his biceps and toned body. Nagarjuna’s picture can totally give any millennial a run for money! Samantha Akkineni shares an equally beautiful bond with her mother-in-law (Nagarjuna's first wife and Naga Chaitanya's mother), Lakshmi Daggubati. A picture shared by the Theri actress had made our hearts go all ‘awww’, when she had sported a similar light-blue kurta and had twinned with her sasu maa. While who had looked better was difficult to decide, but Samantha’s heartfelt caption had a lot to reveal. In the caption, she had also revealed her hubby, Naga Chaitanya’s take on their twinning spree, “Twinning with my MIL .. walked out in the same outfit on the same day (no planning involved)... all the approval I need @chayakkineni men search for women similar to their mothers ... suddenly this seems right @payalkhandwala.”
Samantha Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya had dated for over 8 years and then had tied the nuptial bond. In a recent interview on Famously Filmfare, Samantha had talked about the times when things didn’t work out between them. The Tollywood actress was quoted as saying, “It took us eight years to be at the same point. Because there were times when I really liked him, and he was not in that space. And there were times when we wanted to work it out, but external factors. It took us a very long time to be in the same space.”
A while back, rumours were rife that Samantha Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya are expecting their first child. But the couple had refuted all such rumours and Samantha was quoted as saying, “I have put a date as to when I want my baby. The date has been fixed! Like, as if that’s going to happen according to the date we have fixed! But Chay (Naga Chaitanya) seems to be certain that it will happen on the assigned date!”
Further speaking about how she would like to perceive her motherhood, Samantha Akkineni had shared, “When I have a child, that child is going to be my universe. I had the greatest respect for working mothers. My childhood was not very rosy. For all adults, who haven’t had a very rosy childhood, the first thing they will tell you is that they want to give their child everything that they did not have. That’s something that has stuck with me. So I think the first few years after I have a child, I would not be anywhere. Has Samantha Akkineni’s life changed after her marriage? She had spoken about the same in an interview and had shared, “Chay and I have a very normal approach to things; from writing our provision list to deciding the menu for dinner, to seeing if everything is there at home. Day-to-day activities are organised by us. I like to do that at home.”
