Sandhya Mridul, popular for her roles in Page 3 and Saathiya had come to Mumbai to be a marketing executive. However, destiny had something else in store for her. She started her career with the popular TV serial, Swabhimaan and was later seen in shows like Banegi Apni Baat, Aashirwad, Koshish-Ek Aasha, and Hubahu.
It was in 2002 when Sandhya had ventured into films with Yash Raj Films in Saathiya. Her character ‘Dina’ was widely appreciated and got her films like Page 3, Socha Na Tha, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd, Force, Ragini MMS 2. In a recent interaction, Sandhya revealed the dark side of the glamour world and she was asked to meet the beauty standards of B-town.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Sandhya Mridul talked about the few cruel judgements she heard when she ventured into the film industry. The actress was called vampish and not voluptuous enough. She also recalled how once a filmmaker asked her to get a boob job done for a film. Elaborating on the same and sharing her reaction to it, Sandhya said:
“I was like I am not changing my body for you. Tomorrow you will come and say change your nose. I won’t do it. Someone told me ‘Aapke toh boobs hi nahi hai, sorry’. Mujhe bola gaya hai! For one film, they said, ‘We love you but we need you to have big boobs for the character’. I told them to go ahead and pad me.”
Sandhya garnered a lot of attention for her films, Page 3 and Ragini MMS 2. In the same interview, the actress admitted to padding herself for both films. Talking about the same, she shared:
“For Page 3 I wore (breast) pads. For some scenes I did it. Here, I said it. There are characters like in Ragini MMS where I only suggested she should wear pads because that is the character. But you cannot tell me to get a boob job. For Ragini MMS it completely made sense to me.”

Sandhya Mridul is known for calling a spade a spade. Coming from a family of lawyers, the actress has always stood for what she feels is right. And this is another reason, why the actress didn’t get enough work, as she never succumbed to the advances made to her by filmmakers. Revealing all things she had heard in the past and how she never caved in, Sandhya stated:
“Aap bahar chalne ko tyaar nahi ho’, ‘chalo beer pila do. Ye sab suna hai. I have tried my best to not work for money. I have gone through phases where I have been extremely in difficult financial situations but I have still not caved in.”
