Seems like it’s raining babies in the Tinseltown. Just 5 months into 2019 and we already have a long list of celebrities who have embraced parenthood this year. From Navina Bole and Karran Jeet, Surveen Chawla and Akshay Thakker, Chhavi Mittal and Mohit Hussein to Deeya Chopra and Ritchie Mehta, Saumya Tandon and Saurabh Singh amidst others, who have welcomed their little bundle of joys in their lives. The latest addition to this list is Yeh Hai Mohabbatein fame, Sangram Singh and his wife, Gurkiran Kaur. Sangram Singh and Gurkiran Kaur became husband and wife in an arranged marriage set-up on December 25, 2017, in the presence of their friends and families. While Sangram, who rose to fame with his role of antagonist Ashok Khanna in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, had his base in Mumbai for professional reasons, his wife, Gurkiran hails from Norway and is a VAT consultant. Sangram and Gurkiran had gotten engaged secretly, even his friends from the industry weren’t aware of it and their wedding had taken place in Punjab.
After a year and a half of marital bliss, Sangram Singh and Gurkiran Kaur embraced parenthood and entered the ‘family club’ with the arrival of their little angel. In a post a while back, Sangram announced the good news and wrote, “We are so happy to tell the world that we have been blessed with a healthy and angelic baby girl..both mother and daughter are doing absolutely fine and daddy is overwhelmed with this little bundle of life lasting happiness”.
After his wedding with Gurkiran Kaur, Sangram Singh had broken the stereotypes and had bid adieu to his professional career in Mumbai. Along the similar lines, a source was then quoted as saying, “Three months ago, Sangram got married in Amritsar. It was an arranged marriage. His wife Gurkiran Kaur is a VAT consultant in Norway, so he has decided to move there. The couple will be in Punjab for a few months before they finally relocate to Norway.”
Speaking about his close friend and co-star, Sangram Singh, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein fame, Aly Goni had also expressed his happiness for him. Aly had said, “I am going to really miss him. Sangram has many of his family members settled in Norway and he wants to join them in the family business. It was on November 7, 2017, when Sangram Singh had surprised everyone on social media, as well as his friends from the industry, with a post from his secret engagement ceremony. Sharing an all smiling picture on his Instagram, with just one word Sangram had taken social media by storm. He had written, “Taken”. His co-star, Anita Hassanandani had commented on the picture, “WhatTtttttttttt! Congratulations.” Shireen Mirza had written, “Wow congratulations Sangyyy.”
Aly Goni had posted a picture of the newly-engaged couple and had captioned it, “Yeh lo bhai apne dusra saathi ne bhi hands up kar diye now I’ m actually feeling scared hahahah love u mere veeere. I still can’t believe. oye mere yaar.” Karan Patel too, had congratulated him on social media and had written, “Mere yaar ki shaadi hai. @sangram_singh ki ho gayi wah bhai wah @alygoni mere bhai, hamare liye yeh DISAMBAR hoga bada SITAMGAR!”
Back then, when Sangram Singh was asked about the sudden plan of the wedding without any intimation, he had replied, "Our families knew each other and they thought we were a perfect match. When we got introduced, we gelled quite well. Also, we already have a wedding in the family on December 26th so the elders thought that it would be nice if we get married on 25. A lot of our family members stay in Norway and it won't be possible to fly down for two wedding at a different time."
