It was in 2020 when Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi fame, Shaheer Sheikh confirmed that he found his soulmate in Ruchikaa Kapoor, who is the Creative Producer & Executive Vice President at Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures Ltd. After being spotted on the sets of Ekta's production film, Judgementall Hai Kya (2019), Shaheer and Ruchikaa's relationship came into limelight and became a hot topic of discussion for television lovers in 2020. Soon, Shaheer and Ruchikaa's relationship was made official on Instagram when he posted a picture of his ladylove, flaunting a huge engagement ring and laughing her heart out.

Breaking the hearts of millions of his fans, Shaheer Sheikh had announced his marriage with Ruchikaa Kapoor in November 2020. Shaheer and Ruchikaa had taken the plunge in an intimate court marriage and post registering their relationship, the newly-weds had headed off to Jammu for an intimate ceremony with his family members. To announce their wedding, Shaheer and Ruchikaa had posted pictures on their respective IG handles. While Shaheer had written, "Zindagi khatm bhi ho jaaye agar... Na kabhi khatm ho ulfat ka safar. #chaloDildarChalo #ikigai", Ruchikaa had captioned her post as "Off on an adventure called Forever #HappilyEverAfter #ForeverPerson #Ikigai #theGirlwithcurls #MadMeNow."
Six months after their wedding announcement, rumours were rife that Shaheer Sheikh and Ruchikaa Kapoor are expecting their first child. A news report in The Times Of India quoted a source saying, "Shaheer is known to keep a low profile in the media and doesn't like to talk about his personal life. He has been tight-lipped about the news, keeping in mind the current pandemic situation in the country. Ruchikaa is in her first trimester. They're both looking forward to embracing this new phase in their lives." Now, in an interview with The Times Of India, when Shaheer was asked to address their pregnancy rumours, he didn't deny them but said that it's 'too early to comment'. Shaheer said, "Let's not talk about it. It is too early to comment."
Speaking of how his life changed after marriage and living a simple, minimalistic life with his wife, Ruchikaa Kapoor, Shaheer Sheikh elaborated, "We have entered a new phase of life. I am learning new things every day and taking up new responsibilities. I lived alone for many years in Mumbai, so I am learning to share my space with someone now. (laughs). I enjoy cooking for her. Also, Ruchikaa and I are moving to a new home, so the last few months have been spent doing it up. I believe in living a simple, minimalistic life, and it is a modest house and not something gigantic."

On completing six months of married life, Shaheer Sheikh and Ruchikaa Kapoor had posted a beautiful picture on their respective social media handles. Celebrating their togetherness, Shaheer had posted an all-smiling picture with the caption, "6 months and counting #togetherness." Ruchikaa had reposted the picture on her social media handle and captioned it as "Better Together 6 Months of Togetherness & a Lifetime to Go #TheGirlWithCurls #MadMe #MadUs #ForeverLove."
Two months after their wedding, Shaheer Sheikh and Ruchikaa Kapoor returned to Mumbai from Jammu and the couple had partied with their friends from the industry including Ekta Kapoor, Ridhi Dogra, Akkshay A Dogra, Krystle D'souza, Tanusri Dasgupta, Mushtaq Shiekh, Aparna Nadig and others. In the group pictures shared on social media, the newly-wedded couple, Shaheer and Ruchikaa were inseparable as they flashed ear-to-ear grin for the selfies. Ruchikaa had posted a picture of their gang with the caption, "Our version of the bio bubble #weekend #gang #huddlehouse."
