Hardly have we seen Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor celebrating a special day without their whole family huddled together including their kids, Misha Kapoor and Zain Kapoor, parents, Pankaj Kapur and Neliima Azeem and his siblings, Ishaan Khatter and Sanah Kapur. A few days back, when Shahid had turned 39 and to mark the same, his family including Pankaj Kapur, Mira, Misha and Zain had flown to Chandigarh, where he was shooting for Jersey, and made his birthday special. At the 46th Annual Convocation in the Dasmesh Auditorium of the Guru Nanak Dev University, Pankaj Kapur was honoured with a degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the Faculty of Visual Arts and Performing Arts. Pankaj Kapur’s wife, Supriya Pathak and his children were present to cheer for him as he received the award. According to 5 Dariya News, Pankaj Kapur said that in spite of spending good time in Mumbai, his soul and heart always beats for Punjab and he also shared his experiences of life with the students. His proud son and daughter-in-law, Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor shared a congratulatory post for Dr Pankaj Kapur.
Coming back to Shahid Kapoor’s father, Pankaj Kapur, it is very rare to see him on a digital platform but thanks to Shahid and Mira Rajput Kapoor, we occasionally get a glimpse of the Office Office star. Remember how, on Independence Day 2018, Mira Rajput Kapoor had posted pictures of Misha Kapoor and her baba, Pankaj Kapur flying kites together? Later in 2019, to mark the auspicious occasion of Lohri, Mira had yet again posted glimpses of the dada-poti fun. Dressed in a beautiful yellow traditional attire, Misha can be seen chilling with her baba, Pankaj Kapur. On March 1, 2019, Shahid Kapoor’s wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor had shared the ‘happy news’ that they had started working on their ‘Project Home’ with a glimpse of the blueprint of their new house. Later, on March 5, 2019, Shahid had taken to his Instagram handle to post a father-son picture with Pankaj Kapur, discussing the interiors of his home with construction helmets on. For the uninitiated, Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor had purchased a duplex in upscale Worli, Mumbai for Rs 55.60 crore. As per a DNA report, their scrawling new apartment is located on the 42nd and 43rd floors of Tower B of Three Sixty West. And Shahid and Mira will have celeb couples, Akshay Kumar-Twinkle Khanna and Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, as their neighbours. The Kabir Singh actor had paid Rs 2.91 crore as stamp duty to the government, for its registration.
When Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor were blessed with their second child, Zain Kapoor, Pankaj Kapur had expressed his happiness and joy on the arrival of the new member in their family. In an interview with Republic TV, the Maqbool actor was quoted as saying, “I am very delighted that a new bundle of joy has come to our house. A baby being born in any house is a matter of sheer joy and excitement. Similarly, it is a moment of joy for our family and as the grandfather of the newborn, I am delighted and very proud of my family. I wish Shahid and Mira all the very best and many congratulations.”
In an interview with the Mumbai Mirror, the proud grandfather, Pankaj Kapur had stated, "It’s the most delightful thing that can happen to any family. Shahid’s family is now complete.
