The love between Shamita Shetty and Raqesh Bapat had blossomed inside the house of Bigg Boss OTT. Their love story continued even after the wrap of Bigg Boss OTT. After Shamita entered Bigg Boss 15, she is often seen missing her beau, Raqesh. As Bigg Boss 15 has been extended for two weeks, during the captaincy task, beating all the VIPs, Shamita became the new captain of the house. For the last few days, Tejasswi Prakash was fighting with her boyfriend, Karan Kundrra, as she thought that he was planning strategies with Shamita, for the captaincy task. She had been seen questioning and blaming Karan, for having a biased attitude towards Shamita, and this created tensions between the three.

In the last episode of Bigg Boss 15, Shamita Shetty and Tejasswi Prakash were seen indulging in an ugly fight. When after becoming captain, Shamita downgraded Tejasswi from VIP to Non-VIP, the latter lashed at her, calling her insecure and biased. Later, Rakhi went to Shamita and shared that Tejasswi was accusing her of coming close to Karan. Tejasswi also called Shamita an 'insecure and underconfident girlfriend'. To this, Shamita lost her cool and lashed out at Karan, mentioning her boyfriend, Raqesh. She also asked Karan to make his girlfriend, Tejasswi secure. Shamita said to Karan:
“Let me make this clear to you, I have a boyfriend and I love him. Mujhe koi zarurat nahi hai aapke kareeb aane ki. Tell your girlfriend to be secure about this. I have a boyfriend. Mai usse bahot pyaar karti hu, woh mera wait kar raha hai.”
On January 12, 2022, a video had gone viral on social media where Tejasswi Prakash and Karan Kundrra were seen sharing a romantic moment with each other. In the video, Tejasswi had confessed her love for Karan and had said, "I Love You". She had also made him believe that nobody else is more important to her than him. Hearing this, Karan had blushed and had kissed his ladylove's cheeks.

On January 10, 2022, a video clip from the last Weekend Ka Vaar episode had gone viral where Neha Bhasin was seen teasing and pulling her favourite contestant, Shamita Shetty's leg. In the video, she had said, "Raqa aapko yaad kar raha hai lekin usne nayi girlfriend bana li hai." Later, she had added that it was a joke. Listening to this, Shamita Shetty had gone blank and with a shocking expression, she had said:
“Kya, mere ko heartattack mat de."
On September 24, 2021, Raqesh Bapat and Shamita Shetty were spotted at her sister, Shilpa Shetty Kundra’s restaurant, Bastian, for a date. Later, he had shared a picture on his IG handle from their dinner date, holding each other’s hands. Raqesh had captioned the picture as “U and I," with a red heart emoji and a hashtag that read '#ShaRa', the nickname given by their fans.
