Popular television celebrity, Karan Kundrra had taken our breaths away with his stint with the television show, Kitni Mohabbat Hai. The actor-turned-TV had dated his Kitni Mohabbat Hai co-star, Kritika Kamra, for a couple of years before calling it quits. Karan then moved on and was in a serious live-in relationship with an Indian-Australian MTV VJ, actress and singer, Anusha Dandekar.
Karan Kundrra and Anusha Dandekar had dated each other for almost five years before calling it quits in December 2020. On December 30, 2020, Anusha Dandekar had put out a post on her IG handle, confirming her breakup with Karan Kundrra. In her long note, she had accused Karan of cheating on her. Now, in an interview with the ETimes, her sister and actress, Shibani Dandekar, talked about the reasons behind her sister's breakup.

In an interview with India.com, Shibani Dandekar addressed the much-discussed topic of her sister, VJ Anusha's breakup with her boyfriend, Karan Kundrra. The doting sister stated that it was a challenging time for Anusha because her breakup had happened just before the lockdown. She said, "Her breakup was a difficult period in her life. It happened just before the lockdown. So, it was a tricky space for her to navigate. Because essentially, everybody then is alone. You have to be able to reach out to people in your life that are there for you, whether it is on Facetime or on a phone call."
Going further in her interview, Shibani Dandekar also addressed the traumatic effects of nationwide lockdown amidst COVID-19 on everyone's mental health. In her words, "What has happened in the last couple of years has really set the bar in terms of tolerance—of what we are willing to deal with and what we're not willing to deal with. We've changed."

Shibani Dandekar also raised the brutal fact that the lockdown has exceeded people's expectations with their relationships, and everyone wished to have more of everything. Explained the same, she said, "We're willing to accept a lot less than what we were willing to accept before. We want more from our lives. We want more from our relationships. We want to be fulfilled, we want to be happy."
Coming back to her sister, Anusha Dandekar's breakup with her boyfriend, Karan Kundrra, Shibani Dandekar gave a mere hint that their relationship wasn't the best version of her sister's dating life. Also, she hinted that Anusha was convinced that she deserves a better version of her dating life than it was with Karan. Shibani Dandekar said, "My sister has reached a point where she wants to be true to herself. She wants to live the best version of her own life, she wants to live the best version in terms of what her dating life could be. It was an important journey for her to be on. It was an important journey for us as sisters as well."
