Sonam Kapoor And Anand Ahuja's 2.5 BHK London Home Is Filled With Jewel Tones And A Bold Bathroom

The COVID-19 pandemic had taught us many things. From taking care of our health to paying attention to our relationships and people, who matter, the Coronavirus made us value the little pleasures of life. However, the most important thing, which we learnt during these strange times, is the art of turning our homes into a place, where we can happily spend our cooped days of complete lockdown.

In the midst of it, celebrity homes always give us the necessary inspiration. Over the years, we have seen countless jaw-dropping celebrity homes, but our favourite till date is, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand Ahuja's London abode, which is an embodiment of their personalities. For the unversed, the couple had tied the knot on May 8, 2018.

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja's 2BHK home in Notting Hills, London

When Sonam Kapoor had decided to settle in London with her prince charming, Anand Ahuja, they had made sure to settle in the Bohemian village of London, the Notting Hills. The lockdown had given Sonam ample time to decorate her dream abode. In an interaction with the Architectural Digest, Sonam stated:

"Suddenly I was living a very local life with no planes or premieres. Running in Hyde Park, foraging for olive oils in Portobello market, and bonding with neighbours at this surreal time."

The drawing room 

From a stunning Calanque coffee table by Charles Zana to a Mediterraneo side table, Sonam Kapoor's drawing room has many elements. Her room is accentuated with green puffes and a yellow sofa and red-toned sofa. The floral wallpaper by Ralph Pucci and silver elephants were given to Sonam by her mother-in-law. 

The dining area

Sonam's dream home was turned into a reality by Mumbai-based architect, Rooshad Shroff. The gorgeous actress' dinning room is adorned by tropical de Gournay wallpaper and a gold Mass 8-seater dining table by Tom Dixon. Talking about her love nest, Sonam penned her thoughts in one of her Instagram post. She wrote: 

"The first time @anandahuja and I stepped foot into our flat it instantly felt like home! It’s a two and a half bedroom space nestled in Notting Hill, and perfect for where we are in our lives at present. Upon seeing the space, we knew right away @rooshadshroff would bring to life a particular vision I had for the space."

The powder room

Sonam's powder room hosts a set of Venetian mirrors, which came from Alfies Antiques Market to match the larger mirror from Paul Bert Serpette in Paris. The jewel-toned floral blue wallpaper added a bold element to her bathroom and golden fitting completed the royal look. Sonam further talked about her home and said:

"Colour was a big requirement for me, and furthermore he helped bring to fruition my vision to create a more outdoor feel on the inside, rich in greens, blues and jewel tones, etc. My taste and leanings have become far more eclectic over the years, with a need to incorporate warm textures, fabrics, wallpapers with vintage carpets and chandeliers."

The serene bedrooms

Sonam and Anand's bedroom consists of a beautiful bed with a wooden headrest and a serene green wallpaper, which makes the space even more relaxing. It also hosts a dressing table from Scarlet Splendour. However, the highlight of her room is the ceiling light from Nicholas Wells.

The guest bedroom have a wrought-iron four-poster bed from 1stDibs. The shuttered doors are woven cane and teak and were imported from India, while the handmade lamp and shade are from Besselink & Jones. Talking about her dream abode, Sonam said:

"I truly desired a delicate balance between modernist art and furniture that strongly mirrors my Indian heritage. Being away from home can be hard at times, and so Rooshad did a marvelous job of marrying British architecture with the Indian aesthetic and richness. While India is my soul, London has my heart."

Sonam and Anand's dream abode in London talk about their distinctive personalities, and their love can be see at every nook and corner of their beautiful nest.
