Bollywood actress, Sushmita Sen is a perfect example of an empowered woman. The gorgeousness has been living life on her terms and has never shied away from making her priorities clear. Sushmita had recently hit the headlines after she had announced her breakup with her longtime boyfriend, Rohman Shawl. The news had saddened the netizens and had sent their fans into meltdown. However, finally, in an interview, the actress spilled some beans about the same.
On December 23, 2021, Sushmita had taken to her Instagram handle and had posted a throwback picture with Rohman. The photo was from one of their vacations together. Along with it, Sushmita had penned a beautiful note and announced that their relationship was long over. She had written:
"We began as friends, we remain friends!! The relationship was long over…the love remains!"

Now, after a few days of announcing her breakup with Rohman Shawl, in an interview with the Hindustan Times, Sushmita Sen opened up about her decision. The actress shared that closure is a very important factor in a relationship, and added:
“For me, closure is a big thing. When you are a public figure, the person involved with you is also in the public eye. Even if the person is there, because you have put them there. So, it is not fair for his life or your life to be stuck with everyone feeling something or thinking it’s a relationship.”
The actress further shared that she is at a place in her life where she feels that thinking about a breakup and grieving about it is a wastage of time. She added:
“Closure is important for both people so that they can move on in their lives. And yeah, the friendship always remains. At my age, if I sit and start thinking about the terrible thing, it is really my life that I wasted”.

Sushmita Sen further shared that she is proud that she has learnt a lot from every relationship in her life. Talking about how truth can help people maintain relationships and remain friends with each other, the 46-year-old actress stated:
“I have grown in every relationship. So, it’s a beautiful thing to be able to speak your truth. I’m 100% person. When I’m in love, I’m 100%. So, when we leave gracefully, we must do that 100%. Whatever the reason be, your life is not about being in a loop. The truth is incredible because it allows people to remain friends and to be good to each other. The world needs that love. There’s enough problems in it already”.
For the unversed, Sushmita Sen was madly-in-love with a Noida-based model, Rohman Shawl, who was 15 years younger to her. The two had been in a steady relationship for more than three years. In an interview with Rajeev Masand, Sushmita had shared that Rohman had sent her a DM which she had accidentally opened and had found an extreme amount of truth in his words. And that was the beginning of it all. However, now, Sushmita and Rohman had parted ways.
On the work front, Sushmita Sen was last seen in the second season of her web series, Aarya!
