Born to superstars, Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, it was certain that Twinkle Khanna would follow the footsteps of her parents and would venture into acting. She had made her debut with the film, Barsaat and after a brief stint in acting, Twinkle had decided that acting was not her cup of tea and had shifted towards her passion for writing.
Twinkle Khanna, who is now an author, columnist, interior designer, and film producer had got married to the handsome hunk of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar in 2001. The couple has two lovely children, Aarav and Nitara. Her debut novel was declared as a bestseller, and Twinkle had gotten her pen name, Mrs Funnybones.

Even after 20 years of marital bliss, Twinkle and Akshay are pure couple goals. While interviewing Kajol for Tweak India, Twinkle revealed how she and Akshay divide their bills. Talking about the same, she stated:
"For example, in our life, all the kids’ school, education, I pay for. Because then, I can tell them, ‘Tum padhe likhe ho (You are educated) only because of me’."
On this, Kajol talked about her and her husband, Ajay Devgn, managing their finances. Calling it 'more about convenience', Kajol stated that she is the one, who pays online bills, while Ajay takes care of offline expenses. Kajol also talked about Ajay being a hands-on father to their kids, Nysa and Yug. Sharing details of the same, Kajol shared:
"If I have to get up at 7 o’clock with Yug for school, half the time he will get up at 7 o’clock anyway, sit with him, have breakfast with him, send him to school etc. So I don’t have to get up every day. But now when he is working out and stuff like that, he does take him, sit with him for his classes and stuff like that. So, he does spend a lot of time with the kids and he is very, very much hands-on."
It was during the shooting of their film, International Khiladi, when Akshay and Twinkle had fallen in love with one another. During the shoot of International Khiladi, Twinkle had developed an interest in this ‘six feet of chocolate ice cream’ as a rebound from her failed relationship. A relationship that had started as a fling had turned into a lifetime of togetherness.

After 15 years of their marriage (in 2016), an interesting fact about Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna's courtship days had come up, when at Koffee With Karan season 5, the latter had revealed that she had done a complete background health checkup of her then soon-to-be beau's family to avoid any medical discrepancies! Stating the reason, Twinkle had revealed:
“The reason you get married is primarily to have children. So, you are introducing this genetic strain into your family line. I wanted to know what are the diseases running in his family. At what age did his uncles lose their hair. What did Kanchan chachi die of.”
Twinkle Khanna is the proud author of books like Mrs Funnybones, The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad and Pyjamas Are Forgiving.
