The Khiladi of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar is a happily married man now. For the past 20 years, he has been married to Twinkle Khanna and has two children, a son named Aarav and a daughter named Nitara. But his past is filled with ladies. Yes, Akshay has been rumoured to be linked with many leading actresses of Bollywood. From Rekha to Raveena Tandon, all his link-ups used to be the hot talk of the tinsel town.
Two of his most shocking link-ups, back in the 90s, happened with Shilpa Shetty and Raveena Tandon. The love between Shilpa and Akshay blossomed during the making of Main Khiladi Tu Anari, only to end on a very bitter note later. Shilpa’s fling with Akshay generated a lot of controversies after she opened up about the betrayal and heartbreak in a media interview in 2000.
According to Shilpa, the reason for their breakup was the fact that Akshay was two-timing with her best friend, Twinkle Khanna.
During the interview, she said, “I never imagined that he could two-time me and that too all along our relationship.” Adding further that she holds no grudges against Twinkle, she said, “No, I'm not at all upset with her. What's her fault if my man was cheating on me? There is no point blaming any other woman, it was entirely his fault.”

Talking about those times, Shilpa was quoted as saying, "It has been a rough period personally. But I'm glad that the ordeal is over. After every dark cloud, there's always a silver lining. All this while, though things were going well professionally, my personal life was pulling me down. It feels good that it's finally behind me."
She further opened up, “Akshay Kumar used me and conveniently dropped me after he found someone else. The only person, I was upset with, was him. But I'm sure he'll get it all back. It's not easy to forget the past so soon, but I'm glad I've had the strength to move on. Today, he's a forgotten chapter as far as I'm concerned. I will never work with him again.”

She further revealed, “When you love someone and all along, don't realise that you are being taken for a ride, it can be very annoying. I wanted our film to get over and be released so that it wouldn't come in the way of my producers. I couldn't harass them just because my personal life was turning into shambles. So, I decided to wait till Dhadkan was done with.”
It must be noted here that Akshay at that time had denied all such allegations. He even went to say that Shilpa should not make such a scandal out of the issue. To this Shilpa retorted, "That's his opinion, not mine. After what he did with me, what else could he say?"
Well, Akshay and Shilpa’s breakup made lots of rounds in the newspapers and media back in those days. However, now both of them are happily married, Akshay to Twinkle and Shilpa to Raj Kundra. We wish them all the success in their professional lives.
