Dipika Kakar recently shared how she is quickly recovering from her stage 2 liver cancer surgery as she stepped out for an outing with her family days after getting discharged from the hospital.
Dipika Kakar, who has been one of the most loved actresses on television, has recently been through a tough phase. Known for her iconic role of 'Simar' in Sasural Simar Ka, Dipika's life took a turn when she was diagnosed with a 'tennis-sized' liver tumour and second-stage liver cancer in May 2025. Since then fans have been concerned for the actress. So, her husband, Shoaib, shared frequent updates about her treatment and surgery with fans. As fans were curious to know how Dipika is recovering at a fast pace, the actress shared details about her treatment in a new vlog.
Shoaib Ibrahim recently shared a new vlog where he and Dipika responded to the queries of fans who were curious about how she quickly managed to recover after her major surgery. The actress, who stepped out with her husband, Shoaib and their son, Ruhaan shared that her robotic surgery was a key factor behind her fast surgery. For those unaware, unlike traditional open surgery, which leaves a large cut, robotic surgery only requires a few incisions to insert cameras and perform the surgery. Dipika and Shoaib shared that their doctor explained to them that robotic surgery was the best option since the actress's cancer had not spread. Recalling her doctor's advice, Dipika said:
"In my case, Dr. Somnath was very keen on robotic surgery. But he also keeps one option open: if there is some complication during the surgery then he has to cut open for the betterment of the patient. Lekin he did it aur uss wajah se mera joh organs nikale gaye woh mere C- section se open karke wahan se organs nikale aur wapas stitch kiya hua hai. So on my stomach area, there are six different small robotic stitches."
Dipika and Shoaib shared that they got permission from their doctor to go on an outing for some change. They are strictly following the directions of their doctors, so the actress carries her tiffin with her and avoids eating outside food. She revealed that there is no restriction on her diet, but she is just eating homemade food. Sharing Dipika's diet, Shoaib said:
"Doctors have asked her to eat food items which are fresh and should not have preservatives. They have asked her to avoid bakery stuff, cakes, pastry, anything that is fatty, or frozen food."
In the video, Dipika shared that they stepped out to buy some gifts for her sister-in-law Saba's newborn son, Haider. Since he was born when the actress was ill, they could not buy him a crib as they planned. Consequently, as Dipika's health has improved, the couple bought the latest model of a stroller for Haider. She explained:
"We initially wanted to buy a crib for Saba's son, but due to my health issues, we couldn't buy it and Saba bought it herself. Then we planned to buy a stroller because Saba has not yet bought it."
Dipika Kakar stepped into the world of showbiz with the TV show, Neer Bhare Tere Naina Devi in 2010. But, she got her breakthrough with Sasural Simar Ka, which made her a household name. Later, she focused more on reality shows like Bigg Boss 12, Nach Baliye 8, and Jhalak Dikhhla 8. The actress stepped back from TV after welcoming her son, Ruhaan, but had made her comeback earlier this year with Celebrity MasterChef.
