56 Days is a new thriller series that is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The show arrived on February 18, 2026. The streaming platform did not follow the format they follow for new shows by releasing one episode each week. This time, all eight episodes premiered on the same day. With James Wan’s involvement as an executive producer, people have been rushing to binge-watch the entire series. The show features Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia playing the lead roles.
The film shifts between two narratives throughout all the episodes, which might make it an uncomfortable experience to watch. This is due to the length of the episodes, which is up to an average of around 50 minutes. But certain things will still hold attention. Keep reading to know if 56 Days deserves to be watched for once or has a repeat value!

Although 56 Days has an erotic touch, the main focus is on a murder mystery. The lead characters, 'Ciara Wyse' and 'Oliver Kennedy,' played by Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia, get romantically linked to each other after meeting at a grocery store. The situation takes a different turn, with a dead body being found in the bathtub inside an apartment where 'Ciara' and 'Oliver' have been staying. An investigation is launched by the police officers. But the real problem arises with the disappearance of 'Ciara' and 'Oliver,' and it is eventually revealed that the duo has their own secrets.

The secrets change a lot of things between 'Ciara' and 'Oliver' since the latter starts checking everything about her partner’s past. The main suspense is unpredictable. However, viewers will be more curious to know about the identity of the dead person and how the individual is linked to 'Ciara' and 'Oliver.' The answer that anyone would seek is whether 'Ciara' and 'Oliver' committed the murder or if someone else is involved, aiming to trap the duo.

56 Days has a premise that promises an entertaining experience until the end. The series undoubtedly starts on a good note, with the connection between the lead characters formed in the best way. The meeting of 'Ciara' and 'Oliver' and the intimate moments between them have been captured perfectly on camera. Although they are not the best, the chemistry of the leads is established easily through these sequences. The interior motives of 'Ciara' and 'Oliver' also keep viewers playing the guessing game.

While 56 Days approaches its conclusion, certain things start to pull the show down. This is due to the characters of the detectives, 'Lee Reardon' and 'Karl Connolly,' played by Dorian Missick and Karla Souza. The makers try to bring a different shade out of the duo. However, the script does not help the pair to shine on screen with their new form as expected. Moreover, the ending of the series does not leave the desired impact, and certain things do not follow logic.

56 Days might not turn out to be a satisfying watch for everyone after they complete all eight episodes. But one thing that truly deserves appreciation is the performances of the lead actors. Among Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia, the latter takes away the spotlight in certain moments, specifically due to a subplot of his mental health, making his character memorable to anyone. Dove Cameron is equally impressive, along with Dorian Missick and Karla Souza.
