Before marrying Alekha, Aadar had a steady relationship with Tara Sutaria for reportedly around four years. There have been multiple reports that stated that Tara and Alekha used to be good friends. Amid all this, netizens on social media have found old pictures of Aadar partying with his then-girlfriend, Tara, while Alekha was third wheeling.

As seen in the pictures, Aadar and Tara twinned in black and posed with Alekha, who was seen standing in the middle and wearing a pink dress with a white jacket. Netizens, after seeing the pictures, called Aadar, "Dheeme aanch mei paka hua Ranbir." They even called him 'chomu' and a cruel person for wasting Tara's time. One user shared, "Men are very confusing and selfish sometimes. You never know what's going on in their minds." I feel bad for Tara though. She said in an interview that she's very emotional and takes a while to get over things. So this must be tough." Others noted that Tara and Alekha were never friends and that they just knew one another through Aadar.

Fans of Tara were hurt when she and Aadar broke up. They felt that the duo were happy together as she was always seen in all the Kapoor family gatherings. It looked like Aadar was head over heels in love with Tara. However, after amicably separating, Tara confirmed being single in an interview with the News 18 and shared how her parents turned a blind eye to all the dating rumours. In her words:

"I’m not in a relationship. I’ve the coolest parents in the world. When they read all these things about me in the morning, they come to me and we share a nice laugh over a cup of tea. We keep reading about me being paired with X, Y or Z. This has been happening even before my first film released."

When Aadar Jain's engagement speech went viral and he admitted doing timepass

Aadar and Alekha had hosted a lavish mehendi ceremony for their friends and family members. He had raised a toast for Alekha and shared how he had been waiting for her for years but never got a chance to be with her. Aadar even spoke about his past relations as 'timepass'. He said:

"I have always loved her since then, and I have always wanted to be with her but never got a chance to be with her. So she sent me on this long journey of 20 years through time pass. But at the end of the day it was worth the wait because I get to marry this beautiful, beautiful woman, who looks like a dream".
