The entire Bollywood world knows that Aamir Khan is a perfectionist, and when you aim for flawlessness in your work, certain things are often missed. In a recent interview, Aamir opened up about his decision to step away from the entertainment industry and what made him rethink his decision. The actor shared how COVID-19 made him rethink his priorities, and when he tried to make things right, he had not expected that he would meet such an outcome.
Aamir Khan has given the industry numerous hits over the years. Known for doing selective yet stellar films, the actor has been a gem for the acting industry. However, in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, he revealed that during the COVID-19 lockdown, he questioned his priorities and considered quitting the film industry so that he could spend more time with his family. He shared:
"Well, I think it was COVID-19. I was just sitting at home alone by myself many times. And it made me realise that I perhaps not spent enough time with my family who I am really close to. And when I thought probably, Laal Singh Chaddha will be my last film because I want to be with my family and I really want to make up for lost times."
Aamir Khan said he had not shared the decision with his fans because he knew they didn't expect a film from him every year and would eventually understand that he had retired. He admitted he had thought that after Laal Singh Chaddha, his fans would be expecting a release from him two or three years later, and when there were no updates on any upcoming projects, they'd know he had quit the industry. Aamir added that he had, however, shared the decision with his family.
Aamir Khan shared that even though he had made the decision for his family, they weren’t entirely thrilled with his decision. He lightheartedly shared that his loved ones had started feeling claustrophobic by his presence after six to eight months. He revealed that his family had told him that they have had enough of his time. Aamir revealed:
“About 6 to 8 months of that, people who I loved kind of starting feeling claustrophobic and they were like 'we got enough of you'."
Aamir Khan shared that his kids helped him find a middle ground. He revealed that they urged him to create a balance between his professional and personal life. Aamir added that in the last three years, he has been trying to maintain a balance and to ensure it, he tries to get back to his family by six every day. He said:
