Aamir Khan On How He Fell In Love With Gauri Spratt, 'Was Looking For Someone Who Gives Me Peace'

Aamir Khan is currently leading all the headlines after he introduced his girlfriend, Gauri Spratt, on the eve of his 60th birthday. The actor, who introduced Gauri to the media, urged everyone not to post any pictures of his ladylove to respect her privacy. The actor also revealed that he had known Gauri for 25 years and that they were friends.

Aamir Khan reveals how he fell in love with Gauri Spratt

While introducing Gauri to the media, Aamir revealed that she is not a Bollywood buff and has not seen many of his films. When asked how he fell in love with Gauri, Aamir replied that the two crossed paths 25 years back but lost touch. It was years later that the two reconnected with each other. Stating what made him fall in love with her, Aamir said:

“I was looking for someone I can be calm with, who gives me peace. And there she was.”

Aamir and Gauri have been dating for the past 18 months, and there were many rumours in the media pertaining to their relationship. Mother of a six-year-old, Gauri loved Aamir’s caring attitude towards her, and she couldn’t stop herself from falling for him. Revealing what she liked in Aamir, Gauri stated, “I wanted someone who was kind, a gentleman, and just caring.” Hearing her statement, Aamir chipped in and said:

“And after all that, you found me?”

Aamir Khan shares Gauri Spratt doesn’t see him as a superstar

Gauri is not into the Bollywood madness and has not seen much of Aamir’s work. In the same media interaction, Aamir shared that Gauri had different exposure to cinema and doesn’t see him as a superstar but as a partner. In his words:

“She grew up in Bangalore, and her exposure was to different kinds of films and arts. So she doesn’t watch Hindi films. She has probably not seen much of my work, too. She doesn’t see me as a superstar but as a partner.”

Hailing from Bangalore, Gauri is the daughter of Rita Spratt, who owned a salon in the city. According to Gauri's LinkedIn profile, she has been a partner and director with B Blunt since 2007. She had completed her schooling at Blue Mountain School. She graduated with a degree in FDA Styling and Photography from the University Of Arts London.
