Aaradhya Bachchan's Fake News Case: From False News About Her Death To Plastic Surgery Reports

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan are the power couple of Bollywood, and their daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan, too, enjoys immense fame just like her parents. Ever since the birth of Aaradhya in 2011, the celeb kid has been grabbing the limelight. Whether accompanying her mom, Aishwarya, to every event or being a star performer at her school, Aaradhya leads the headlines often.

Aaradhya hails from an influential family, and everything she does grabs attention. However, the star kid has often been a target of fake news as well. From morphed pictures and videos to false reports about her health, much misleading content about the 13-year-old has been circulating online. In 2023, Aaradhya filed a lawsuit against the circulation of misleading information about her online at the Delhi High Court.

The court ordered search engines like Google, YouTube and other social media accounts and entertainment publications to remove fake content about Aaradhya. Aaradhya recently filed a fresh petition to follow up on her previous lawsuit after many websites didn’t comply with the high court order. When reports on Aaradhya Bachchan's plastic surgery dominated the headlines

When the Ambani family hosted a grand three-day festivity to mark Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding ceremonies, Aaradhya Bachchan caught all the attention. Aaradhya, who is always seen with bangs, opted for a new hairstyle. Fans couldn’t recognise Aaradhya, and she started to trend all over social media for her transformation.

Many YouTube channels stated that the star kid underwent plastic surgery. While some compared Aaradhya’s look similar to Aishwarya from the 90s, a few creepy netizens posted some thirst tweets about the little girl.

Fake reports of Aaradhya Bachchan suffering serious health issues

In the petition filed by Aaradhya through her father, Abhishek Bachchan, the star kid has claimed that various YouTube channels have been spreading false reports claiming that Aaradhya has been suffering from a major illness. Some reports also claimed that she passed away, and one of them even claimed that the Bachchans did not take any steps to ensure prompt medical attention to Aaradhya.

Not just this, morphed pictures of Aaradhya are used in many online content to grab the attention of the viewers, which violates her right to privacy. The law firm that filed the petition claimed that the defendants' only motive was to try to gain profits using the reputation of the Bachchan family. The firm also slammed the YouTubers for not thinking about the damage that their reporting was causing to Aaradhya and her family members.

In response to her plea, the court said that every person, irrespective of whether he or she is a celebrity, has the right to dignity, especially when it comes to their physical and mental health. Speaking about the same, Justice C Hari Shankar said:

“Every child is entitled to be treated with honour and respect, be she the child of a celebrity or the child of a commoner. Dissemination of misleading information relating to a child, especially as regards her physical or mental wellbeing, is something which is completely intolerable in law. No technicalities can come in the way of the Court stepping in, where such attempts are brought to its notice.”

When Abhishek Bachchan lashed out at trolls targeting Aaradhya

Earlier in an interview with BollywoodLife, Abhishek Bachchan opened up about the trolling that his daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan, faces daily and lashed out at people who have been posting hate comments on Aaradhya. Mentioning that trolling is completely unacceptable, the actor said that he would not tolerate it and dared the trolls to say it to his face. He shared that he draws the boundaries for his daughter and added:

“While It’s completely unacceptable and something that I will not tolerate. I’m a public figure that’s fine, my daughter is out of bounds. If you have anything to say, come and say it to my face.”
