Meet Aarushi Nishank, Daughter Of Uttarakhand's Ex-CM: Actress Duped By Mumbai Producers Of Rs. 4 Cr

Uttarakhand's former Chief Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, who is Bharatiya Janata Party's MP from Haridwar, is currently in the headlines. The reason behind this is his daughter, Aarushi Nishank, who is an actress and quite popular on Instagram. For the uninitiated, Aarushi Nishank received a lot of limelight when she appeared in the 2024 web series, Life Hill Gayi. The young Uttarakhandi actress turned heads with her acting skills alongside Divyendu Sharma, Mukti Mohan, Vinay Pathak, Atul Srivastava, Hemant Pandey, Kusha Kapila, and many more.

On December 16, 2024, Aarushi Nishank shared pictures of her meeting with Uttarakhand's current Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami. The actress revealed in her post's caption that she will soon be seen in the film, Aankhon Ki Gustakhiya, featuring Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor. Fast forward to February 9, 2025, and the actress started trending on social media platforms after Aarushi accused the Aankhon Ki Gustakhiya producers, Mansi Varun Bagla and Varun Pramod Kumar Bagla, of fraud.

Aarushi Nishank filed a police complaint against the two producers for duping her of Rs. 4 crore. The police are investigating the matter and have booked Mansi Varun Bagla and Varun Pramod Kumar Bagla under various sections like extortion, cheating and fraud, forgery, criminal intimidation and criminal conspiracy. According to a report in NDTV, Aarushi was promised to get a role in the film, Aankhon Ki Gustakhiya, starring Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor, on an investment of Rs. 5 crore. As per Aarushi, the two producers told her to invest Rs. 5 crore in the film for big returns and a role in the film.

Further in her police complaint, Aarushi Nishank revealed that she initially transferred Rs. 2 crores to them from her company, Himshree Films and made multiple payments that took the total amount to Rs. 4 crores. However, after receiving the total amount of Rs. 4 crores, when Aarushi asked them about her role in the film, Aankhon Ki Gustakhiya, the producers told her that another actress had replaced her.

When the actress asked the producers to return her money, they refused and even threatened Aarushi Nishank. As a result, she filed a complaint against them at Kotwali Police Station, Dehradun. In her statement, Aarushi also shared that the two producers introduced themselves as the directors of Mini Film Pvt. Ltd. and told her that she would be entitled to a 20 per cent profit share, which would be around Rs. 15 crores. She said:

"They introduced themselves as directors of Mini Film Private Limited and stated that they were producing a film featuring actors Shanaya Kapoor and Vikrant Massey. They offered me a significant role in the film but said that I would only get this role if I invested Rs 5 crore in the project. They assured me that this investment would entitle my firm to a 20 per cent profit share, estimated to be over Rs 15 crore."

Producer of Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor's film, Aankhon Ki Gustakiya, Varun Pramod Kumar Bagla reacted to Aarushi Nishank's accusations of fraud 

In a conversation with PTI, it was Varun Pramod Kumar Bagla, who addressed Aarudhi Nishank's accusations against him and Mansi Kumar Bagla. The film producer shared a completely different story, as he revealed that Aarushi was the one who approached them. He further revealed that Aarushi told them that if she got the chance to work in their film, it would position her as Uttarakhand's face and benefit her political career. However, once he and Mansi accepted Aarushi's proposal, the actress threatened them and demanded a role as a parallel lead in the film. He said:

"She (Arushi) claimed it would also position her as the face of Uttarakhand and boost her political career too. To persuade us, she highlighted her alleged strong ties with Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, mentioning to us how she had invited him to the set of her web series' Life Hill Gayi' and promised to do the same for our film. However, once she came on board, she began threatening and demanding a larger role as a parallel lead in the film."
