Abhishek Bachchan Credits Wife, Aishwarya Rai On Filmfare Win, 'Thank You For Allowing Me To Go Out'

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai have been through a lot of public scrutiny in the past few weeks, and people often wondered if their relationship had hit a rough patch. But the family never publicly reacted to the claims and kept living in private. Recently, Abhishek Bachchan credited his wife, Aishwarya Rai, for all his success at the Filmfare Awards night.

Abhishek Bachchan completed 25 years in the industry, but never won a Best Actor award. However, he won his first Best Actor Award at the 70th Filmfare Awards 2025, for the film, I Want To Talk, and it was an extremely emotional moment for him. He went on to confess that he had practised his speech several times to receive the award. He said:

"This year marks 25 years in the film industry, and I cannot remember how many times I’ve practised a speech for this award. This has been a dream, and I’m just so touched and humbled. Receiving it in front of my family makes it even more special. There’s a host of people I need to thank, so please… Kartik (Aaryan), ther jao tum abhi, tum sambhal jao tab tak. Kartik has gotten very emotional and made me speak, thinking I wouldn’t get emotional."

Abhishek further went on to thank his wife, Aishwarya and their daughter, Aaradhya, for letting him go to work and follow his dream. He stated that the world could now see their sacrifices, which helped him stand there and receive the award. Abhishek dedicated the award to his father and his daughter, Aaradhya, and stated:

"To Aishwarya and Aaradhya, thank you for allowing me to go out and follow my dreams. I hope that by winning this award, they see that their sacrifices have been one of the main reasons I stand here today. I want to dedicate this award to two very special people. This film is about a father and a daughter, and I want to dedicate it to my hero, my father, and to my other hero, my daughter. Thank you so much, I cannot express what this means to me."

For the unversed, Abhishek won the award for I Want To Talk. He played the role of a terminally ill father who decided to reconnect with his daughter. It was the actor's first collaboration with Shoojit Sircar, who is famous for films like Vicky Donor, Sardar Uddham, October, Piku and more. The film is inspired by a true story and also stars Jayant Kripalani and Ahilya Bamroo in important roles.
