Alia Bhatt's Cannes 2025 Appearance NOT CANCELLED, Will Attend Closing Ceremony After Vital Shoot

Alia Bhatt is a prominent leading lady in the Hindi film industry. She made her debut in 2012, and since then, the young actress has gone on to win hearts for her beauty, grace and versatile roles. Amid this, Alia is set to add another feature to her hat by making her debut at the Cannes 2025.

Alia Bhatt's Cannes film festival debut isn't cancelled

Alia Bhatt has already confirmed that she will make her debut at the ongoing Cannes 2025 as a global ambassador for L'oreal Paris. However, last week, when the Indo-Pak relationship became strained, the actress shared a note expressing her feelings. Consequently, a few media sources claimed that she had cancelled her Cannes 2025 red carpet debut in the wake of the national situation. But none of it is true as Mid Day confirmed that Alia will attend the prestigious film festival.

The French Riviera began on May 13, 2025, and the new report revealed that Alia will attend the closing ceremony of the event after completing the ongoing schedule of her upcoming film, Love And War, alongside her husband, Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. The source shared that the actress is set to shoot some intense scenes for the film by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Given the emotional demands of the scenes, Alia would only travel after completing them. It said:

"As the ambassador for a leading beauty brand, Alia remains committed to her global representation duties. She will head to France in the last leg of the prestigious film gala after this critical phase of Love & War's shoot is wrapped up."

When Alia Bhatt opened up about her Cannes 2025 debut 

Previously, when it was reported that after the Mst Gala, Alia would walk down the Cannes Film Festival 2025 red carpet, the actress confirmed the same. Taking to her social media handle, she released a statement and explained that firsts are always special, and she is excited about the opportunity. In her words:

"There's something absolutely special about firsts, and I'm so excited to make my Festival de Cannes debut this year, an iconic celebration of cinema and self-expression. It is such an honour to represent L'Oréal Paris at the Festival with this year's theme, 'Lights, Beauty and Action'. To me, beauty is about celebrating individuality, confidence and self-worth. It's limitless; it's unique. I'm proud to stand with a brand that celebrates every woman's journey and empowers them to shine in their light."

On the work front, Alia Bhatt was last seen in Vasan Bala's Jigra co-starring Vedang Raina. But the film failed to impress the criticis. She will be next seen in Yash Raj Film's action entertainer, Alpha co-starring Sharvari Wagh. The actress also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love And War co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in her kitty.
