Pushpa 2 actor, Allu Arjun walked out of the prison at 6:40 am, according to a report by Indian Express. The Telugu actor was released from Chanchalguda prison, Hyderabad, and the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail on a personal bond of Rs. 50,000. Allu Arjun was detained by the Hyderabad Police on December 13, 2024, in relation to a stampede that took place during one of the Pushpa 2 screenings in December at Hyderabad.
Allu Arjun's lawyer, Ashok Reddy had applied for the bail. Despite orders from the court, the actor was not released on December 13, 2024. According to a Times of India report, the lawyer claimed that the actor was kept in the prison as a 'special category prisoner'. He also slammed the jail authorities for not complying with the court's orders. He told the media present outside the jail about the situation. Ashok Reddy said:
"You should question the government and the department why they have not released the accused. The High Court order is very specific. Forthwith, the moment you (prison authorities) receive the order, (they should) release him. Despite the clear order, They have not released, they have to answer. This is an illegal detention.
Allu Arjun was released from jail on December 14, 2024. He was spotted coming out of the jail from the backdoor around 6:30 am. According to a report by the Times of India, Allu Aravind, father of Allu Arjun had also reached the prison gates around that time. Since December 13, 2024, fans were seen protesting outside the prison gates, there would now be such a sigh of relief. Allu Arjun was seen returning to his home from the other door of the Chanchalguda jail.
Another report by the Indian Express also claimed that the actor had got bail on December 13, 2024. However, as the papers reached the jail officials late, the actor had to spend a tiring night in prison. The prison manual states that prisoners cannot be released at night.
During the premiere of Pushpa 2 , a stampede took place at Sandhya Theater in Hyderabad, on December 2, 2024. 39-year-old Revathi died in the stampede due to suffocation, and her nine-year-old son is in a critical state. . A case was then filed at the Chikkadapally police station against the Telugu actor, Allu Arjun, his security forces and the management team of Sandhya Theatre. M Revathi's husband, M Bhaskar filed the complaint and the case was filed under BNS sections 105 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 118(1) r/w 3(5) (voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt).

A police official from the Chikkadapally police station said in his statement that Allu Arjun came to the theatre, came out from the sunroof of his vehicle and started waving to the public gathered there. This gesture attracted the public to the theatre's main gate. At the same time, his private security started pushing people to make way for his vehicle. His team was intimated to take him back citing a large public gathering, but they didn't act on it. The cop also said that the actor was in the theater for more than two hours.
