Allu Arjun Receives Heat Online For Denying Fan's Selfie Request, 'Takes 5 Seconds For A Picture'

South India’s superstar, Allu Arjun, known for his charismatic presence on screen and stylish public appearances, has found himself in hot water. The Pushpa star was recently spotted at the Mumbai airport, heading inside for a flight. A video from his latest outing has since taken the internet by storm, where he was seen gently declining an excited fan’s selfie request before heading inside the airport. Netizens remained divided in the comments of the viral clip, with some supporting the actor while others lashed out at him for ignoring fans.

Allu Arjun’s video declining a selfie request sparks online debate

A video shared by paparazzi accounts on social media captured Allu Arjun arriving at the airport post his appearance at the WAVES 2025. He looked effortlessly dapper, dressed in a white T-shirt with black graphic patterns, paired with loose-fitting cargo pants and statement sunglasses. But it wasn’t his look that got people talking.

In a now-viral clip, Allu Arjun is seen entering the terminal with tight security, politely smiling at those present there but refusing a selfie request from an eager fan. After the fan requested a selfie, the actor gently patted his shoulder and gestured for him to move out of his way, but it looked like he maintained his calm demeanour. 

A security guard can be seen gently guiding the fan away, while the actor, in a hurry, walks ahead without engaging further. The moment lasted only a few seconds but was enough to ignite debate across social media platforms.

The internet remains divided over Allu Arjun’s refusal to a fan’s selfie

The clip went viral in no time, with netizens re-sharing it on their respective social media handles. However, the reaction to the incident was polarising. Some users slammed the National Award-winning actor for being “arrogant” and “fake,” pointing out what they felt was an insincere smile. One fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “He is so fake, such a fake smile”. Another commented on his attitude, saying, “Attitude leke kya hoga sir ji ? Ek din toh milna mitti me hi hai.” A third user wrote, “My fans are my Army… just words it takes 5 seconds for a pic but it ends up this way, only movie promotions time they need people love.”

On the other hand, many came to the actor’s defence. One user wrote, “Maybe he was getting late for a flight”. Another added, “He’s an actor, not a machine. He’s allowed to have private moments. What matters is the quality of his films, and he delivers on that front.”

Despite the recent controversy, Allu Arjun continues to dominate headlines for his upcoming projects. The actor recently confirmed his collaboration with Jawan director, Atlee, for his 22nd film, tentatively titled AA22XA6. His last work, Pushpa 2: The Rule, had a record-breaking run at the box office, earning approximately Rs. 1785.84 crore worldwide, with its total gross in India being Rs. 1471.1 crore.
