Famous comedian and actress, Amy Schumer, who ventured into comedy in the early 2000s, has been making headlines for her dramatic weight loss journey. The 44-year-old beauty shared her transformation on social media, posting a glimpse from her Las Vegas trip with her girls. It is worth mentioning that Amy, over the years, never shied away from trying unconventional methods to lose weight. However, not many know that her confidence emerged after a lot of ups and downs in her life, and ugly relationships.
Amy is happily married to Chris Fischer, who is an American chef and a farmer. However, to find her happily-ever-after, she had to overcome a lot. Earlier, in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, the then-36-year-old Amy revealed that she had suffered a lot in the past. She revealed that she was in a relationship, where the man convinced her to believe that she wasn't lovable.
Not only this, but he would even physically assault her. While recalling the ghost of the past, Amy revealed that she would get hurt a lot. He would grab her, shake her, and often push her so hard that she would fall and hit something and would get hurt. She recalled being thrown on the hood of a car, and she was running from him, carrying her shoes for her life. Amy was quoted as saying:
"I got hurt by accident a lot. He didn’t realize how hard he’d grabbed me or shook me or pushed me, and I would fall and hit something then I’d be hurt. I can picture being thrown on the hood of a car like it was an hour ago. And running from him, carrying my shoes and running from him, running into backyards trying to get away from him because I was afraid for my life."
Amy revealed that it made her wonder who she was, as she had never been this kind of woman. And then she realised that it happens to all women. The Snatched star further revealed that her ex convinced her that she wasn't lovable and that he was the only person who could possibly love her. Not only this, but she would feel bad at how he felt hurt after physically hurting her. She was quoted as saying:
"And then again I would feel bad for him after he hurt me about how bad he would feel. You don’t choose to fall in love with someone who hurts you, and you can be in love with someone who hurts you."
