Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's pre-wedding ceremonies began in March 2024, in Jamnagar, mainly as an ode to his dream project, Vantara. It was graced by a number of celebrities from around the world. Afterwards, the Ambanis hosted another pre-wedding ceremony for Anant and Radhika on a lavish cruise set on the waters of Europe in the last week of May 2024. Finally, on July 12, 2024, the duo tied the knot, followed by a few other post-wedding celebrations in the next days.

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's three-day-long wedding ceremony was graced by a huge guest list of almost 14000 attendees, including celebrities from both Bollywood and Hollywood, along with delegates from politics, sports and other fields. Talking about the huge guest list, the Kardashian sisters, Kim and Khloe were indeed the top international guests at Anant and Radhika's wedding, and they grabbed most of the attention. Apart from them, a number of people were invited during the two pre-wedding ceremonies, wedding and post-wedding functions, and this had a deep-rooted reason behind the same.

Why did international guests grace Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's wedding?

The Ambanis played a great role by warmly welcoming the guests at Anant and Radhika's wedding side by side. This proved to be a lovely meet-and-greet session between them and their business partners. Here, we are going to talk about some of the global business leaders who were invited to Anant and Radhika’s pre-wedding events for certain reasons related to Reliance. To begin the list with, Microsoft co-founder, Bill Gates was seen in one of the pre-wedding functions. As per Deccan Herald, his presence was due to Reliance Industries' investment of USD 50 million in his climate change company, Breakthrough Energy Ventures.

CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, was also seen along with his wife at Anant and Radhika's first pre-wedding ceremony in Jamnagar. His presence marked Meta's USD 5.7 billion investment in Reliance’s Jio Platforms. As per CNBC, the investment gives Facebook a 9.99% stake in Jio Platforms and gives it a pre-money enterprise value of USD 65.95 billion. On the other hand, the CEO of Google, Sundar Pichai's presence was mainly due to recognizing Google’s USD 4.5 billion investment in Jio Platforms Ltd, for 7.73 percent stake, as per Economic Times.

Moreover, CEO of Disney, Bob Iger's presence was mainly in order to celebrate the recent mega-merger between Reliance and Disney worth USD 8.5 billion as per Money Control. On the other hand, Chairman of Saudi Aramco and Governor of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), Yasir Al-Rumayyan's presence acknowledged PIF’s acquisition of a 2.04% stake in Reliance Retail Ventures Limited in 2020. As per Reuters, Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund has bought a 2.04% stake in Reliance Retail Ventures Limited for about USD 1.3 billion, the sovereign wealth fund.
