The world is reeling at the horrifying car crash involving boxing star Anthony Joshua that claimed the lives of two of his closest trainer friends, Sina ‘Evolve’ Ghami and Kevin Lateef 'Latz' Ayodele on Monday, December 29, 2025, on Nigeria’s Lagos-Ibadan expressway. With fans searching the late trainers online, the attention has fallen particularly on their social media accounts. Turns out, both Sina and Latz had been active and had posted hours before the crash that claimed their lives.
Sina and Lateef were extremely close to Joshua, and their respective social media accounts prove exactly that. The boxer was often featured in their posts, and the same was the case during their final hours, too. On Monday morning, both trainers posted stories on Instagram, sharing what has now become the final moments of their lives.

Videos and photos of both men, posted on Monday morning, show moments of normalcy and pure joy before tragedy hit. On Ghami’s Instagram, there was an image of a police-escorted convoy, possibly taken from within a car, though it can’t be confirmed if it was the same car that claimed their lives hours later. The final post on his feed, posted a week ago on December 22, 2025, featured a carousel of photos and videos from a training session with Joshua.

Lateef, on the other hand, had reshared a short clip of himself playing table tennis with Joshua, originally shared in the boxer’s IG Stories, captioned, “@healthy_mindset dishing out table tennis smoke.” Another widely circulated video on X (Twitter) and Reddit showed the trio arriving at an airport, smiling and relaxed. In Latz’s post from days ago, he and Joshua posed shirtless by a pool, joking about having “swum back from Miami,” a nod to Joshua’s recent high-profile win against Jake Paul.

The crash reportedly happened around 11 a.m. local time in Nigeria’s Makun, Ogun State, just north of Lagos. Photos and videos from the crash site show a severely disfigured car, with Joshua still seated in the back seat before authorities pulled him out. Police confirmed that the boxer sustained minor injuries and is in stable condition, but two other passengers died at the scene.

Authorities said Joshua and another injured passenger were taken to a specialised medical facility in Lagos for treatment. Preliminary findings from the Federal Road Safety Corps and local police indicate that Joshua was riding as a passenger in a black Lexus SUV travelling in a two-vehicle convoy. The SUV reportedly struck a red commercial truck parked along the roadside. Investigators cited speeding, an overtaking attempt, and a suspected tyre burst, adding that the vehicle appeared to lose control while manoeuvring.

Anthony Joshua is in stable condition and being treated at an undisclosed hospital in Lagos following the crash. He is conscious, in contact with his family, and remains under observation for routine checks and treatment. Officials said he suffered minor injuries and does not require emergency surgery. Nigerian President Bola Tinubu visited him in the hospital and later confirmed the boxer is receiving the best possible care.
For now, the boxing world remains in mourning for the tragic day that lost two of its most talented professionals.
