Anurag Kashyap is one of the biggest directors in India and is hailed as the pioneer of the country's Indie film cinema. He is renowned for his grimy filmmaking and dark tone and themes. The director recently appeared for an interview to promote his latest movie, Almost Pyaar With Dj Mohabbat, where he shared his experience on the dating app, Tinder.
In an interview with Unfiltered By Samdish, Anurag Kashyap revealed using Tinder in response to the question of whether he had ever used the app under his real name. Anurag further added while he downloaded the app to connect with new people, it only displayed his closest friends and family. The Gangs of Wasseypur director revealed spotting his manager there, and then the Dev.D director spotted one of his closest friends and producer, Guneet Monga. Anurag stated that he then deleted the app because he kept on seeing his people. He said:
"Haan, maine Tinder download kiya tha apne liye. It showed the person closest to me; first, it showed me my manager, the next person it showed me was Guneet Monga. Then I deleted Tinder. I was like ye mere apne logo ko dikha raha hai."

In a recent interview with Mashable India, Anurag Kashyap also disclosed that his ex-wife, Aarti had once kicked him out of their home for having a drinking problem. The director continued by saying that during his one-and-a-half years of despair, he drank a lot. He said:
“I locked myself in a room, and that’s when the drinking began. It was over. I used to drink heavily for a year and a half. Aarti kicked me out of the house. My daughter was only four years old then. That was a difficult phase. I was depressed.”
The filmmaker married the film editor, Aarti Bajaj, in 1997, but they parted ways in 2009. Later, Anurag Kashyap married actress, Kalki Koechlin in 2011, but the duo divorced in 2015. Aaliyah Kashyap is Anurag's only daughter from his first marriage. He still keeps in touch with his ex-wives and often brings them up in interviews and social media posts.
