Archana Puran Singh is a well-known Indian actress and TV personality. She is best known for her comic roles and being a judge on The Kapil Sharma Show. The actress has often been the subject of jokes on the show for her body language and looks, but she always took it positively. However, in her personal life, she had to deal with comments that affected her self-esteem. Recently, the actress opened up about one such experience where body shaming as a kid left a significant impact on her self-esteem. Here's what she has to say.

Archana Puran Singh reveals being body-shamed affected her as a kid

Archana Puran Singh recently shared a new vlog on her YouTube channel, where she and her family welcomed Boney Kapoor's daughter, Anshula Kapoor, to their home. They had several discussions related to fitness in the vlog and talked about food. During the conversation, Archana asked Ansula about her body insecurities, and she discussed her battle with PCOS. In turn, Archana revealed that she was called when she was a kid, which left an impact on her self-image. In her words:

"It impacted me so much that even when I had a 26 inch waist, I kept feeling that I was fat."

In turn, Anshula agreed and revealed that she finds it difficult to accept compliments and always feels that other people are lying about it. However, she has adopted a different approach to accepting herself. Consequently, she is working on her fitness and trying to develop her confidence which Archana appreciated.

Archana Puran Singh clapped back at a troll who body-shamed her

Previously, a troll called out Archana Puran Singh and mentioned that she looked more like a man than a woman. Rather than letting the comment slide away, she called out the troll on her thinking. Later, when she was asked about the reason for her reaction, the actress told Hindustan Times that she avoids engaging with trolls because they only seek attention. However, she believes if more celebrities would come out to speak, it can bring a major change. She said:

"Sometimes, a reply from a celebrity helps to reinforce good social media engagement. If more celebrities come out and voice their actual opinion, then maybe it can bring about a change. Maybe a lot of people will read my reply and understand the point I am trying to make."

Archana Puran Singh made her debut with Nikaah in 1982. She went on to do brief roles in films like Agneepath, Saudagar, Shola aur Shabnam, and Raja Hindustani among others. The actress later played supporting roles in popular films like Mohabbatein, Krrish, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Masti, De Dana Dan and Bol Bachchan. However, Archana Puran Singh's stint as a judge in Comedy Circus and The Kapil Sharma Show made her a household name.
