Ashok Saraf met his now wife, Nivedita Joshi when they performed a play together, following which they appeared in many films. However, it was during the shooting of Dhum Dhadaka that they actually struck a chord and became friends. Their friendship soon turned into love.

The duo has an 18 years of age gap, and it was a concern for her parents. Nivedita’s parents also disapproved of her decision to marry Ashok because of his profession as an actor.
Nivedita’s elder sister, Dr Meenal Paranjape convinced her parents and took the initiative to get the couple married. Soon, Meenal convinced their parents and the duo got married.
In 1990, Ashok Saraf married Nivedita Joshi at Mangueshi Temple in Goa. At the time of their wedding, Nivedita was just 25, while Ashok was 43. Their 18 years of age gap raised many eyebrows, but their love was enough to sustain their relationship. The couple welcomed a son, Aniket Saraf, who is a well-known pastry chef.
Just like Ashok, Nivedita, too is a popular name in the Marathi films. She gained recognition with the 1984 film, Navri Mile Navryala alongside Ashok Saraf. With films like Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi, Thartharat, Pheka Pheki, and many others, Nivedita carved her niche. Apart from films, Nivedita has her YouTube channels and provides cooking recipes.
From being labelled as an ‘unconventional couple’, Ashok Saraf and Nivedita Joshi graduated to an ‘ideal couple’, and their 18 years of age gap never played any hindrance in their happy married life.
