Ashoke Pandit Shares A Photo With Satish Shah's Wife, Reflects On Their Love Story, 'Accept That...'

Filmmaker and Satish Shah's close friend, Ashoke Pandit, took to his social media handle on October 30, 2025, and penned a heartwarming note for his late friend's wife, Madhu Shah. In his emotional message, he reminisced about their decades-long friendship, Madhu's artistic journey, and the beautiful love story the couple shared.

Ashoke Pandit took to his Instagram handle and posted a sweet photo of himself sitting with Madhu. He wrote a long note with the picture, reminiscing about the time they spent together. He started his note by sharing that Madhu is the daughter of ace photographer, RR Prabhu, and that she followed in her father's footsteps to become a fantastic actress and an even better fashion designer. She was quoted as saying:

"Dear Madhu. Have known you for the last 40 years. You have always been a person who believed in goodness, sharing love & affection with the people around you...You have followed in his footsteps and protected his legacy with your talent as a brilliant actress and a superb fashion designer. Have shared great moments with you when you played important characters in my one-act plays, which I directed in your college (SNDT Juhu)."

In the same note, Ashoke Pandit further revealed that Satish Shah first saw Madhu Shah perform during an Intercollege competition and was immensely captivated by her. He further shared how their love story started and turned into a beautiful 'mast Jodi'. He also shared how Satish and Madhu have built several meaningful connections over the years. Recalling an instance from their time together, he shared:

"Aur uske baad ek love story ki shuruaat ho gayi, which took shape into a mast Jodi….You and Satish were a symbol of grace, dignity, humour, oneness, masti. You and Satish have created many nice people around you who will always be with you, showing their affection for you. Still remember your tiffin, which you used to send for all of us with Satish on the sets of Filmi Chakkar, which Satish used to eat all by himself and not allow us to eat."

Ashoke Pandit on Madhu Shah's Alzheimer's

For the unversed, Madhu Shah was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and Satish Shah had even undergone a kidney transplant and bypass surgery so that he could take care of his wife. In the note shared by Ashoke Pandit, he also shared how he finds himself unable to believe that Madhu is not well. He further added how to him she seems to be the same loving and affectionate person. He was quoted as saying:

"I refuse to accept that you are not well. For me, you are the same lovable person. Common, let’s do a play together & I promise you will again bag the best actress award because I don’t find anyone better than you … I am sure Satish will clap from up there and will be proud of you...I will plan the schedule and let you know. Stay blessed."

Satish Shah passed away at the age of 74

Veteran actor, Satish Shah passed away at the age of 74 on October 25, 2025. The comedian-actor was best known for his memorable performances in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Om Shanti Om, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Umrao Jaan, and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, among several other iconic projects.
