Malayalam Actor, Asif Ali Fell Head-Over-Heels In Love With Mamta Mohandas Before Marrying Wife Zama

Malayalam actor, Asif Ali’s journey in the Malayalam industry has been tremendous. The actor did a variety of roles in his 16-year-long career in the industry. Be it ‘Manu Raghav’ in Salt N’ Pepper, 'Ajaychandran K.V' in Kishkindha Kaandam or 'CI Vivek Gopinath' in Rekhachitram, Asif Ali has done complete justice to all his roles.

Asif, who made his acting debut in 2009 with the film, Ritu, starred in some of the biggest blockbusters. Born in Idukki, Kerala, Asif graduated with a degree in Business Administration. While studying, he modelled for ads and also worked as a radio jockey. Asif Ali fell in love with Mamta Mohandas on the sets of ‘Kadha Thudarunnu’

Though Asif made his acting debut with the film, Ritu, in his second film, Kadha Thudarunnu, he shared screen space with the charming actress, Mamta Mohandas. Since Asif was new in the industry, Mamta tried her best to put him at ease. She would chat with him and would discuss and rehearse scenes with him. This made Asif believe that Mamta, too, loved him.

Their film featured a romantic song, Aaro Paadunnu, which was the first romantic song shot by Asif. Soon, Asif confessed his feelings to Mamta, who brushed it aside, leaving him heartbroken. In a throwback interview with IndiaGlitz, Mamta recalled Asif’s feelings and described it as ‘cute’.

Soon, Asif stated that this had been Mamta’s response even back then and stated that he shot the first-ever romantic song of his career with Mamta, and it was a surreal moment. Hearing Asif, Mamta jokingly said:

“It was the perfect moment to fall in love.”

In the same conversation, Mamta revealed that Asif reminded her of one of her close friends, whom she lost during the shooting of Kadha Thudarunnu, and this made her close to the actor. Asif, on the other hand, heaped praises on Mamta for comforting him during the shooting while he was being panicky.

Asif Ali and his wife, Zama Mazrin, are one of the most sought-after couples in the Malayalam film industry. Their common love for food brought them close as Asif is a huge foodie. The duo got engaged in 2012 and, married a few months later in 2013.

Despite his busy schedule, Asif makes sure to spend time with his family and kids. From vacations to hosting parties for friends, Asif and Zama are leading a blissful life. In 2023, the couple completed 10 years of marital bliss and threw a lavish party to celebrate the occasion. Many Mollywood celebrities too were present.
