Atul Subhash's suicide case has raised concerns in the nation with the hashtags 'MenToo' and 'MenLivesMatter' hashtags. Everyone has demanded justice for the 34-year-old Bengaluru-based techie, who took his life after failing to find a solution against the corrupt legal system that was in support of his wife, Nikita Singhania. Nikita was accused of the 'explicit instigation for his suicide' by the late techie. Nikita reportedly lodged nine cases against Atul and demanded an alimony of Rs. 3 crore despite being employed in a good position at an IT company. Moreover, in his 24-page suicide letter, Atul Subhash has answered each of the shocking claims that Nikita made in her complaints against her husband.
In 2022, Nikita Singhania lodged complaints against her husband, Atul Subhash, in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur. As per a report by PTI, Nikita Singhania, in her complaints, stated that she got married to Atul in April 2019, and the late techie was not satisfied with the dowry that her family gave during the wedding, and further asked for more Rs. 10 lakh. Nikita remarked that she would be harassed physically and mentally for dowry, and she let her family know about the same, who asked her to keep her patience. Well, Nikita claimed to have found no changes in her husband's and her in-law's behaviour. Nikita allegedly complained:
"They started torturing me physically and mentally for dowry. When I told my parents about the harassment and dowry, my parents explained to me that everything will be fine, listen and keep living with it. But no improvement of any kind came in my husband and in-laws."
In the same complaint that Nikita Singhania lodged, she claimed that her husband, Atul Subhash, used to beat her after consuming alcohol and treated her like a beast. Not only that, as per Nikita's claims, he would even transfer her salary to his account by threatening her. For the unversed, Nikita is reportedly employed with Accenture, in the position of AI engineer consultant, which, as per Glassdoor, has a good salary package. Nikita, in her complaints, reportedly stated:
"My husband started to beat me up after drinking alcohol and started treating the husband-wife relationship with me like a beast. He used to transfer my entire salary from my account to his account by threatening me."
Nikita Singhania also reportedly claimed that her father was irritated by her in-law's words and behaviour. So much so that, as per Nikita, her father's health started deteriorating, causing him to have a stroke due to the demand for dowry. Nikita claimed that her father passed away in August 2019 during his treatment.
In his 24-page suicide note, titled 'Justice is due', Atul Subhash has answered each of the complaints his wife, Nikita has made. He stated that his wife claimed that he had a package of Rs. 40 LPA first, and then Rs. 80 LPA as an AI professor. Thus, her claim against his family, wanting Rs. 10 lakh as dowry, was simply baseless. Talking about Nikita's claims of him beating her, Atul, in his note, stated that if it was the case, then she would come up with the proof, as if her allegations were true then him beating her black and blue had surely left marks on her. Talking about Nikita's father's demise due to the demand for dowry, Atul claimed it to be a 'Bollywood plot'.
