Barkha Bisht Accuses Ex-Husband, Indraneil Sengupta Of Infidelity, Says, 'Cheating Is A Choice...'

Barkha Bisht and Indraneil Sengupta were married for 15 years before they decided to part ways. The couple's divorce left their fans heartbroken. Now, Barkha has opened up about what led to their divorce. She revealed how her ex-husband, Indraneil, cheated on her, calling it the reason behind their separation.

Barkha Bisht accused Indraneil Sengupta of infidelity 

In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Barkha Bisht opened up about her separation from Indraneil Sengupta. She revealed that despite knowing about his affair, she stayed in the marriage for two years, trying to save it. However, it was Indraneil who eventually chose to leave her and get a divorce.

In conversation with Siddharth, Barkha revealed that Indraneil moved out of their marriage. She added that he best knows the reason for that. She shared that they had a good marriage, and if it were up to her, they would still be married. She was quoted as saying:

"It's a choice to move out of a marriage, and it was Indraneil's choice to move out of the marriage. He chose to move out of the marriage for reasons best known to him. If it were in my hands, I would still be married. We had a good marriage. For four years, I have constantly felt that I wish I could be lesser in everything—maybe things could have been okay. Infidelity, cheating, falling out of love all these things happen. It is a choice. Cheating and infidelity is a choice that you make. The second choice is what you do after that."

Barkha Bisht revealed she tried to save her marriage with Indraneil Sengupta despite his infidelity

Barkha Bisht, in the same conversation, revealed how she was among those women who would say she would leave if her husband cheated on her. However, when it actually happened, she realised it was easier said than done. She also revealed how his answers were unsatisfactory when she confronted Indraneil about the rumours of his affair with Bengali actress, Ishaa Saha. She added that his answers were unsatisfactory. She stated:

"I was among those women who would say that I would walk out of a marriage if I were cheated on, but when it actually happens to you, you realise it is easier said than done. I have no shame in saying that I would have forgiven Indraneil, and I even tried to save my marriage for two years after that. Indraneil made a choice—maybe he can justify it now. He can give you a hundred reasons why this marriage broke, but his actions are not on me. He has to justify them."

Barkha Bisht shared about heartbreak

In the same conversation, Barkha Bisht shared about her heartbreak after her ex-husband, Indraneil Sengupta, cheated on her. She expressed her pain and shared that it was an experience she had to go through. She added that it broke her humanity. However, it didn't break her faith in marriage or love.

"Jo dil ka tootna kehte hain—heartache—I felt it. It feels like physical pain. It was an experience I had to go through. My belief in humanity broke at that time, not my faith in marriage or love, and it is still somewhere broken. The worst thing you can do to a woman is break her trust because she cannot take betrayal."
