Pahalgam Attack: Bengaluru Techie, Bharat Bhushan's Last Words To Wife Were, 'Stay Strong..'

Kashmir also called the Paradise on Earth, has again witnessed bloodshed. It was on April 22, 2025, when terrorists of the Resistance Force, a part of Lashkar-e-Taiba attacked Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam and killed 26 people. Amid this, there was a civilian named, Bharat Bhushan who was brutally killed by the terrorist in front of his wife and three-year-old son. Bharat's wife, Dr. Sujatha, revealed the last words echoed by Bharat before he was shot dead.

Bharat Bhushan's last words to his wife, Sujatha, were about staying strong

Sujatha, widow of Bhushan, a techie from Bengaluru who was killed by the terrorists in Kashmir, opened about the last heart-wrenching words uttered by her husband. She revealed that Bharat tried to provide words of comfort to her and their three-year-old son before he was shot. Sujatha, in an interview with The Times Of India, recalled Bhushan's words, which were:

"Don't worry, don't worry... stay strong.'"

The terrorist showed no mercy on Bhushan even when he said that he was a father to a small son. Sujatha revealed she and Bhushan along with their son had hid behind a tent when the gunfire started. The terrorist spoke to an elderly man in Hindi about how he could be happy when their children were killed? Sujatha then added:

"After shooting my husband, the terrorist went away. I rushed to my husband and took his wallet. We had a BSNL postpaid phone, and on a bench were our bags. So I grabbed those and ran. Being a doctor, I knew he won't survive after he was shot in the head. I kept running and looking back to see if anyone was following us. There were so many bodies. I climbed onto a horse with my son and from thereon CRPF took care of us."

When Bharat Bhushan requested the terrorists to let him go

The horrendous cold blooded attack in Pahalgam has left India shocked. Bharat was killed in front of his wife and three-year-old son. Sujatha who is a Doctor, shared that her late husband had requested the terrorists not to kill him as he had a three-year-old kid. His request was not paid any attention and Bharat was shot right in front of his child. Sujatha saw all this while hiding behind a tent, but could not do anything. She shared that they would ask the men about their religion, and then randomly ask anything and then shoot them in the head. Bhushan tried his best to save himself as Sujatha told NDTV:

"I couldn't hear what he was saying. But then, near our tent, I could hear, 'How can you enjoy vacation? How could you just enjoy yourselves like this...' to an elderly man and then shot him in the head also, then another. He came to my husband... and he didn't even speak. He just shot him. My husband was requesting him, 'I have a child... please spare me'. But he just shot him and left..."
