Popular comedienne, Bharti Singh is one of the most prominent faces in the television industry. Hailed as the queen of comedy, Bharti is well-known for her outstanding comic timing and humourous nature. She and her husband, Haarsh Limbachiyaa, entered the parenthood league when they welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on April 3, 2022. Now, in an interview, she revealed that she experienced labour pains on the shooting sets.

Bharti Singh reveals she experienced labour pain during the shooting of 'Khatra Khatra'

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Bharti Singh opened up about her pregnancy and shared that she experienced labour pain while she was shooting on the sets of the show, Khatra Khatra. However, she didn't call the doctor as she was not sure if it was labour pain and continued to host the show. But when she called the doctor, he advised her to come to him if the pain happens every 15 minutes. In her words:

"When I was on stage doing Khatra Khatra when my labour pain started. In the first pregnancy, you don’t realise that this is labour pain so I thought I’ll call the doctor after the shot. I thought that maybe it’s because I’m standing a lot while hosting the game show. So I called the doctor and said that there is pain, but it is not constant, it’s coming and going, and the doctor said this is labour pain. When it starts happening every 15 minutes, you should come in."

Bharti Singh reveals she didn't tell anyone when she went into labour

Bharti Singh further revealed that she and her hubby, Haarsh Limbhachiyaa, had gone to the hospital only after completing the shoot, but they did not inform their family members. The comedienne added that it was only after she entered the delivery room, that she asked Haarsh to call their families to let them know that they were at the hospital. She said:

"At around 4-5 am, it was time to go to the hospital. So me and Haarsh, we did not bother anyone, didn’t call anyone, no staff members, no parents. We took our bag, he got the car ready, and we left. We were thinking why bother anyone? We are going for a good thing." 

Bharti Singh on being body-shamed

Bharti Singh has been on the radar of trolls for her body weight ever since she began her career in the entertainment industry. Time and again, she has opened up about the same on several shows, and in the same interview, Bharti talked about how the trolling affected her. However, she shared that she accepted her body before others started trolling her for her body weight. Talking about the same, she said:

"Main toh halwai ki beti nahi hu. Main toh middle class bhi nahi, poor class se hu, aab waysa khana kha kha k hi main moti ho gayi, toh kya karu? I was happy with my body weight back then and even today, I have no complaints about it."

Bharti Singh talks about the toxic comments she and Haarsh received after their wedding

Bharti Singh was head over heels in love with Haarsh Limbachiyaa when she decided to get married to him. However, people didn't leave a chance to troll them. Mentioning how people still believe that fat girls should only get married to fat boys, Bharti shared:

“I know main moti thi, but mere life hai, main kisise bhi shaadi karu. Both Harsh and I had to hear toxic comments. Since Haarsh has glasses, everyone around us joked that I will break them. Although we chose to ignore the comments, deep down it affected us. But we didn’t talk about it."

For the unversed, Bharti Singh resumed work just 12 days after the birth of her son, Laksh Limbachiyaa.
